I don't eat sushi - I have eaten shrimp, cucumber roll and California roll, but I'm well aware of how salty soy sauce is, so I've totally stayed away from the above.  I do like teriyaki chicken and tempura a lot, though.

You don't have to dip the sushi in soy sauce, BK.  In some circles, it is actually insulting to do so - the sushi chef has already seasoned the morsel properly, and it needs nothing more to add to the flavor.  Of course, this depends on the skill of the chef, and the quality of his ingredients, which reflect upon his skill.

Fortunately, there are all sorts of other options in Japanese cuisine.  And I mention it as another option for you to try, in your pursuit of a delicious, healthy, and low calorie diet.

I've got to hit the sack.  Der B is totally out of it - he's asleep on the couch, with his feet propped up atop fellow couchmate Fletcher, who is just as snoozy and content.  Like master, like dog.  The rillettes, and the rest of the dinner, can hold until tomorrow.

Time to find something to nosh on, and the to bed.

Hasta.

DR MBARNUM - the Dream-O-Matic 6000 says the dreams you are having are a subliminal wish to return to the carefree days of childhood, when earning a living and cleaning the house were not uppermost in your mind.

I wonder where we shall sup?  Of course, now I wish I hadn't eaten the hot dogs, but they satisfied my extreme hunger without too much damage, calorie-wise - in fact, no damage, calorie-wise.  The one thing I won't have at dinner is bread, but anything else should be fine.

If the cause of my eventual death is stomach cancer, someone please promise me they will sue Manhattan Physicians Groupo aka HIP for major malpractice!

I'm now on hold because my doctor, rather than intervening with Westside Radiology, has tossed me back onto the HMO's "referral" lady for her to try to arrange something earlier.  This is the same doctor whose diagnosis of a boil led to two rounds of surgery for a ruptured perianal abscess.

Crabby, aren't we?

Why don't you get a different doctor?

DR DearReaderLaura, there is an angel named Chandra working at Westside Radiology and she is indeed on the side of the angels. After my doctor put me on hold for the referral, I listened to music for a good 5 minutes, decided to bite the bullet and make a Sept 23 appointment. Chandra, to whom I had not spoken before, answered the phone, listenede to me vent, and I am now having this ultrasound next Thursday at 9:45!

I think I'll take her a dozen roses.

One word LEVAIN!  Did I spell that right?

BK - our household has become quite fond of

La Croix

flavored sparkling waters.  I'm drinking a can of orange right now.

Sometimes I buy the unflavored LaCroix and add fruit juice to it.  Then you can have whatever flavor you want and can change it every can or bottle.  I really enjoy it with cherry, cranberry or even grape juice. I've done it with lemon and lime too

DRs, thank you all for the vibes and wishes! Now that the appointment has been settled, I am quite chipper, if still a bit nauseous, and looking forward to spending time with our DR Ben, my left-wing associate in 60s politics.

I've made a tentatvie date with Matthew for Sunday, and tomorrow we'll settle on a movie and have a nice dinner after to celebrate his birthday which was last week.

Glad it worked out elmore.   Vibes that it all goes well~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

of course some DRs probably avoid reading my posts religiously.

A recent email reminded me that I considered buying the Woody Woodpecker DVD set a while back.

I really haven't stopped listening to the Newman CD - it's quite brilliant, and Mr. Haines WILL be recording Losing You whenever we get around to doing his next CD.

I've been listening to it and loving it as well.  Losing You reminds me of his old song Marie.
