Good Evening!

So... As I walked up 8th Ave. from 14th to 59th, I was "reminded" just how much I don't miss having a car right now.  Due to some accident in the Lincoln Tunnel, the traffic was solid(!) from 31st Street to 50th.  I don't think I've heard that many car horns honking in a while.

bk - FYI - I stopped into two Best Buys here in nyC during my wandering today, and found at least three copies of each of those Sci-Fi doubles in each store.  -And, yes, they're under the series title and not the movie titles.  *And on the store's computers, they were listed under "compilations" just to complicate matters even more.

I'm just catching up on yesterday's posts.

RE: the olympics. DRs Jrand and Cillaliz were talking about diving being a shocker. Was that the men's 10m platform results?  I watched that too.  I thought for sure that chinese guy was gonna win!

Yes, congratulations to the adorable and gay Matthew Mitcham of Australia for winning the 10 meter platform diving.

We don't have any Australians that still post here do we?

Bye for now!

This morning, I watched and recorded the Canadian broadcast of the closing ceremonies.  I'll watch and record the US broadcast tonight, also. :)

I have still not heard from Kenny Miller. Perhaps I was wrong on the day...maybe it is tomorrow that he will be in Salem?

I left a message for him on his cell phone. We shall see. I just worry about him driving down I-5 in weekend traffic.

Well, I am a total dork. Kenny isn't going to be here until tomorrow...Monday. I must have misunderstood him when we talked.

So, in that case I had better go do my grocery shopping, since I had put that off.

I'm surprised that no-one has mentioned the delightful Australian Diver Matthew Mitcham.
(His demeaner reminds of the also charming Ian Thorpe. I was also pleased to see (on Oz TV) interviews with the swimmers by Daniel Kowalski (sp).)

Now - back to lurking.
And Perhaps to listen to "Pipe Dreams" which I also love.

I couldn't decide which movie to watch, and I ended up running across a video of the 1997 Tony Awards my mother kindly taped for me.   My-- what brilliance and my what disasters!

I invented a sort of glop tonight that was very good.  I had left over rotisserie (SP?) chicken. I diced it and threw it in a pan with some olive oil and sweet onions, then I mixed in a can of cream of mushroom soup and some salsa, and two cups of cooked rice.  I added some ground salt and pepper and that was it.  It was very tasty.  The salsa and mushroom soup were a good balance for each other.

I have been very busy today. Working in the yard, working in the house, doing the laundry and other assorted chores.  I got a lot done, so that is a good thing.

I loved it when the female (not sure who she was) who looked him in the face and said "You just won the Olympics!!"  He was in total disbelief.  It was so great to see.

The way he dressed should have indicated he was from the Southern Hemisphere! :)
