As I said last night, I'll be working on THE EXECUTIONER'S SONG today. I see from the box that it's 135 minutes. That's a large amount of cutting from the 4-hour miniseries version that originally aired. ANyway, I have such vague memories of the show that I'm looking forward to it.

DR Jennifer - From last night... Season 4 of "The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency" is what started up here (in the States) last night.  However, it seems that Miss Dickinson has spoiled a lot of the coming season during the course of her publicity blitz over the past few weeks.

My gosh, those fall auditions got here quickly! Good grief!

Yep - that's what happens when Labor Day falls on September 1.

*But it has been a very "fast" year.

RE: THE ANDROMEDA STRAIN

I thought the movie's slow build-up to its climactic sequences was a little TOO slow, but damn if it doesn't grab you and have you on the edge of your seat later on. Its payoff was worth the wait.

And nothing, nothing, nothing will EVER be the same!

That reminds me of THIS wonderful tribute/appraisal/desconstruction of Babs by Glenn Gould!   :D

Re-reading this piece now, I note that Claus Ogerman produced Babs's "Classical" album.  Now THERE'S a name that wouldn't have meant anything to me until I started reading bk!   :)

Re the early Labor Day, and thus the early unofficial September 1 end of summer season:  This will presumably be an interesting "test year' for whether the Jewish holidays really have the impact on Broadway box office that so many think it has, with the Jewish holidays not starting until the evening of Monday, September 29th.

DR Jennifer, I did not watch BB10 last night as it didn't air until 10pm and I didn't want to stay up so late...but I will comment after viewing it tonight.

Tonight i think we get episode 9 or 10 of season 3 (i think they are the last ones, maybe one more). i really really hope they continue with the new season.

Do you watch it on E!?  We have E! canada here and they usually try to show a lot of what E! is showing. Only problem is their website is not very helpful. They don't have episode guides for the shows and they only tell you what episodes are on that week.

I haven't seen any of the publicity that janice has done so i'm not spoiled. But i would love to see seasons 1 + 2. I think they are available to watch online.

Okay DR MBarnum (re: BB), i will look forward to reading what you thought.

I am especially curious about what you thought of the edits (especially of ollie) since you don't follow the live feeds (and they edit out a lot).

RE: the new Fall tv schedule.

Does anyone (maybe DR MattH) know when the new tv shows are featured in the mags. Or are there good places to look online?

I just noticed So YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA starts beginning of sept.  One of the judges is from the US version (jean marc genereux). And dan and mary are alternating judges.  We have a host i don't know. Oh and blake is one of the rotating judges as well (he was on the first or second season).  I will be curious to see if it is anywhere near as good as SYTYCD US.

The show is carried on Oxygen here, so maybe you could try their website.

And as for the spoilers, well... Even with the way the "preview" from week to week, they usually end up including things that don't happen for a couple of weeks.  And there have even been times when they previewed "something big", but then once they get to the "something big", you don't see the exact clip they used in the preview.  In any case....

It's all about the eye candy anyway.  Talk about a show that is so manipulated and manufactured for "dramatic effect"!  -I mean, "high end clients" do not simply walk into an agency, ask to see some models, and then hire some of them on the spot... -Without first signing a release form.  ;)

I can see how the Holidays could impact a particular week's grosses, but I doubt being an observant Jew means less theatre going per season.

I

The new season for the networks other than Fox is still a few weeks away, so the major features on new shows in TV GUIDE and ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY I'd think will happen in a week or two. TV GUIDE usually breaks it into an issue on returning shows and an issue featuring the new ones. Certainly I'm keeping my eyes open.

Running through my mind:

Want leads the lines of love in circles and angles
Want runs deep like a tunnel with a pendulum beat
That touches the heart in many directions
Moving the mind in silent reflection
Of the angles and rhymes of the circles and lines
With the tunnels of love running over
Taking the mind and triangle rhyme
And twisting it to fill the cup of
Sunshine, love shine
Touching the fibers of the feeling inside you
Letting out the things you hide
That touches the heart in many directions
Moving the mind in silent reflection
Of the lines that touch the corners and fibers
Of the feeling that keeps running inside you
Cylinders of hope turning and yearning
Into pendulums of weary hesitation
Taking the line and triangle rhyme and twisting it
To bend the mind in all directions
It's love and want and need and all those things
Tearing you apart
