The next hit-piece is ready to hit the bookstores:

Quote
In "The Audacity of Deceit" you’ll learn how Obama:
•   Blocked emergency medical aid for babies who survived abortion.
•   Plans to ban the use of firearms by lawabiding citizens—even for self-defense.
•   Was abandoned by his bigamist father and raised in a Muslim society—and
how this influences his values.
•   Would raise tax rates to a Hoover-like 60 percent.
•   Will transform the U.S. Treasury into the United Nations’ ATM.
•   Wants fuel prices high and farmland taken out of production.
•   Will grant federal medical insurance to 12 million illegal aliens and increase
emergency room costs alone by $15.4 billion annually.
•   Would transfer child-rearing from parents to the federal government with his
secular “0 to 5” program.

That's not the one i have. I have (i'm pretty sure) rhus toxicodendron. I probably wouldn't use it unless i checked first to make sure this would be good for muscles.

I am icing it now.

DR Jeanne, if you know if the above would work please let me know. Although on answers.com it says it is for inflammed muscles.

Jennifer, it can be somewhat confusing.
ARNICA is the age-old remedy for sprains, strains, and bruises. It's also good for shock. But after several days, many homeopaths recommend one of the others.
RHUS TOX is known as the "rusty gate" remedy, ie, if you feel better with movement. It is seldom recommended for the initial injury.

I would use Arnica. Icing is good. You might want to try extra magnesium, by supplement (100 mg once or twice a day).

There are many remedies for muscular problems. I always recommend Arnica because it is usually the best choice for an initial injury. After several days it can be difficult to know which remedy is best and sometimes a homeopath is needed.

Also, drink a lot of water. I've been amazed at how I've reduced inflammation by simply drinking lots of water (2-4 qts/day). Do you take fish oils? Fish oils help with inflammation as well. If you take them by supplement, I'd recommend the top brands--Carlsen, Nordic Naturals, etc.

As an eual opportunity offender, let me submit this on Ms Palin:

Who is Sarah Palin? Here's some basic background:

    * She was elected Alaska's governor a little over a year and a half ago. Her previous office was mayor of Wasilla, a small town outside Anchorage. She has no foreign policy experience.
    * Palin is strongly anti-choice, opposing abortion even in the case of rape or incest.
    * She supported right-wing extremist Pat Buchanan for president in 2000.
    * Palin thinks creationism should be taught in public schools.
    * She's doesn't think humans are the cause of climate change.
    * She's solidly in line with John McCain's "Big Oil first" energy policy. She's pushed hard for more oil drilling and says renewables won't be ready for years. She also sued the Bush administration for listing polar bears as an endangered species—she was worried it would interfere with more oil drilling in Alaska.
    * How closely did John McCain vet this choice? He met Sarah Palin once at a meeting. They spoke a second time, last Sunday, when he called her about being vice-president. Then he offered her the position.

I remember when abortions were illegal and a friend of mine almost bled to death in 1968 on a flight back from one, and I am very pro-choice.  I also think Ms Palin sounds like the new campaign's answer to a moron like George W. McCain won't live long and we'll have another puppet to be controlled by something, I don't think the ones pushing W's string are human. Anne Coulter, p'raps?

I am sorry that I have been mostly E&T since Thursday night.  This was a week from Hell at work.  On Monday afternoon we were forced (like good little drones) to box up everything in our cubicles; so that a crew could come in on Monday night and replace our carpet.  Tuesday, we came in to find the most God-awful carpeting any of us had ever seen.  We put all of our things back in our cubicles between visits from the powers to be that seemed confused by our new carpet.  In the late afternoon, the word came down that they had installed the wrong carpet.

So, Wednesday afternoon we all had to pack up everything in our cubicles AGAIN; so that they could come in Wednesday night and install the correct carpet.  Well the second carpet was a big improvement, but by the time I finished unpacking for the second time this week; my back was really hurting.  So, yesterday after work, I cam home, took my pain pills and went to bed.

My favorite Charo memory was the time Merv Griffin insisted she perform a song on his show with Sergio Mendes & Brasil '77.  Sergio did not look pleased to be sharing the stage with the cuchi cuchi girl.  Ah, memories, pressed between the pages of a white spandex sequined pantsuit.  :)

B.D. Wong seems to have been blogging about getting ready to do Skip's show HERRINGBONE at the McCarter.  If you have a few spare hours, it's fun reading - a lot of info, but the details of the process are surely an interesting document for the McCarter.

http://www.mccarter.org/blog/index.php

It is a fine team on HERRINGBONE.  I'm sure Bruce and Jose and Larry especially know some of these folk.

Music Director    Dan  Lipton
Bass                    Benjamin  Campbell
Drums            Richard  Huntley

I've always been fond of Jack Jones' Wives & Lovers.

I realize I have been remiss in conveying some sad news.  Tewkesbury, our foundling pup, that has been with us for several years had to be put down last week.  About a year and a half ago, he had been diagnosed with incurable kidney disease.  He defied the predictions and, for a long time, was the healthiest dying dog around...even though he was on a special diet and getting fluids twice a week (these last few months three times a week).  But it was obvious, in these last weeks, he was slowing down.  After a rather horrible night, where he was in great pain that no medication seem to quell, we made the fateful decision to spare him any further suffering.  The doctor came to the house and gently spirited him away.  The next day, we had him cremated and his ashes now reside in our pet shrine next to all our other beloved pets who've passed on.  RIP, Tewkes!

I am so very sorry, CP, it sounds like both sides benefited greatly by his presence in your home.

We are back "home" after a lovely brunch at Landmarc with DRs Jose and Singdaw.  From there we visited some of Jose's sweet shops.

Now, I'm icing my foot and waiting for the Michigan game to start.  I'll just get to see the first half or so, because we're going to Evening Prayer at St. Mary's at 5pm.  We'll have a light supper somewhere nearby and see The 39 Steps this evening.

Good Afternoon!

So... In a nutshell...

Brunching and Other Activities in NYC

We ended up at landmarc in the Time-Warner Center for brunch.  It was a perfect day to brunch there: not at all crowded and we got seated by the windows overlooking Columbus Circle and Central Park.

We brunched on landmarc egg sandwiches, eggs florentine, omelettes and...

BACON!!

For dessert - yes, we had dessert with our brunch! - not only did we enjoy the complimentary housemade caramels - and our waitress even brought us some extras to take home! - but we also ended up with a complimentary "serving" of....

After browsing through the New York Running Store, and gazing fondly at the goodies in the case at Bouchon Bakery (this weekend's special donut: Raspberry Bavarian Creme!), singdaw and I posed for this pic...

I'm not sure whether to call it "Two Men and a...." or "Three...".  ;D

Thank you very much DR Jeanne.

I called the homeopath and she said that she thought that what i had would work.

The weird thing is that as soon as i took it i fell asleep for 2 hours. Could it cause drowsiness?

Oy.

It didn't really happen because of something i did (i don't think). I just went into my sister's house. And something did not feel right. I took a muscle relexant that day. And it mostly felt better. But last night ( 5 days later) it started aching. But when i went to sleep and woke up it was fine. But then today it started aching again.

Then after leaving Levain, we stopped in Jacques Torres for some browsing, drooling and "wishing".  Alas, no buying, but that store sure does smell something choco-licious!  *And he's now selling milk-chocolate covered Cheerios (to go along with the dark chocolate covered corn flakes. :)

We then made our way back across Broadway in order to find the Van Leeuwen Artisan Ice Cream truck.  Alas, the truck was not there.  However, since Grom[/color] was on the same block...

What was filling those cups included: (from the top right, clockwise) Cioccolata Extranoir, Pistacchio/Crema di Grom, Melone/Torroncino, Caramel/Crema di Grom.  -For descriptions of those flavors, just click on the previous link.  *Grom's website actually goes into some detail for each individual flavor.

*I also believe it may take Ginny's DH Richard a few days to recover the Cioccolata Extranoir.  He had one of "those smiles" - a.k.a. one of "my food smiles".  :D

The storm I wrote about on Thursday was a doozy. Lots of damage around town, although we didn't get hit hard where I live. Lots of rain, though.

It looks as though things are gearing up for another storm tonight.
