Of course in the Pacific NW I would assume Toffee, Taffy and tuffy are all pronounced the same way.

I've been watching the DVD of the 2006 Royal Ballet revival of their 1946 version of THE SLEEPING BEAUTY and it's quite wonderful. In the early 1950s NBC broadcast the ballet with Margot Fonteyn and that broadcast is now on DVD as well. It's nice to see it in color and know what it's supposed to look like. The orchestra plays the score beautifully.

I've been reviewing a lot of the new Blu-Ray re-releases of Opus Arte titles. I liked La Boheme more than Il Trovatore, Blu-Ray wise.

To be honest I don't even know of Joel! (Although my memory does seem to link him with some "Western" or other - which I wouldn't have watched).

and "Dee" to me is a river in Scotland (or maybe Mrs Darin).

The Blu-ray release of HOW THE WEST WAS WON is going to include as a bonus the "smilebox" version of the film which helps compensate for the curvature of the screen which Cinerama cameras perpetrated on the image. Robert Harris has said this is the way to watch the film in the home, and I, for one, can't wait to get that effect on my 56" screen. I'm going to move my chair closer to the screen when I watch it to see how close I can get to the feel of the Cinerama experience.

While I cooked and ate lunch, I watched last night's MONK. As DR Elmore said, it was a fine episode. In fact, I'd say it was the best, least irritating episode in the last three years. I easily guessed the murderer's identity in the final puzzle. The giveaway clue (like they always provided in MURDER SHE WROTE) was easily observed if you were paying attnetion, and I was pleased that I immediately picked up on it.

And I loved seeing guest actors from previous episodes enacting their characters again. Too bad more of them couldn't have been rounded up for the 100th episode (would love to have seen Stanley Tucci doing his Emmy winning role again).

Then, more CSI: MIAMI. Ugh! The show was never the best CSI, but it's now the worst by such a wide margin that it's painful for a one-time fan to see.

The episodes are in broadcast order rather than in production order which has been the case with all of the previous seasons of the show.

Hi all! Just wanted to pop in to make sure everyone has weather TS Hanna.

We had cloudy skys with a very small touch of rain from her yesterday.

I confess, I'm a bit worried about our friend, Ike. It's more like Yikes!

I saw a reference to bilberry. I've been taking that for years. It's very good for your eyes.

When I have these mini surgerys and I'm not allowed to take anything for a week or two before it, I really notice the difference. Everything goes fuzzy.

In fact, you may not have known it but whenever I go to the theater I take one or two just before I go in. It really helps me see the stage.
