Back from a wonderfully wonderful dinner with Cason and Karen Murphy.  We had a grand time and the food was, of course, yummilicious in the extreme.  More later in the notes.

I love all Fellini films right up through 8 1/2, then I don't love them so much after that.  I do love La Dolce Vita - especially the waitress (blonde gal) who Marcello meets at a seaside town and then sees at the very end of the film.  It is her close-up that ends the film and it's one of my all-time favorite last shots of a film.

Good Evening!

I'm back from another SETC dinner.  Tonight's dinner was for the Auditions Staff, and since I'm the pianist for the auditions, well...

We ended up at Brixx Pizza.  There were about 25 people there, so we just "voted" on a couple of pizzas and some bottles of wine, then passed the plates around.  The pizzas are basically "personal sized" - 10" - so we ordered about 12 different pizzas, and we were all able to sample a slice or two from each variety.  I think my favorite was the Roasted Pear, Gorgonzola and Walnut Pizza.

*Oh, and the desserts were surprisingly good too. They had a Chocolate Fudge Torte which actually had a layer of Chocolate Fudge in it!

Some internet site this weekend had a series of photos called the Hunks of the Olympics.  So, of course, I looked.  Can someone please explain this outfit from the Netherlands?

It doesn't need an explanation, it needs a magnifying glass.

I did find out that the hotel I'm staying at has free wireless in the room. :)  Apparently the hotel was totally refurbished last spring, so I'm hoping it will be nice.  There are also supposedly lots of great little restaurants near the hotel.

I just watched Fellini's LA DOLCE VITA, a film I had always wanted to see and never had.  And now that I have, i'm pondering it.I think I respected it more than I liked it, but I've always had problems with Fellini films. I'm also pondering how to proceed with a dirty trick I suspect someone's pulling on me, so there will be more information to follow on that front.  Once I'm certain.

I feel the same way about LA DOLCE VITA. It was an OK viewing experience but it's not a film I would enthusiastically revisit.

I leave Thursday and go to Omaha then fly out at 6:15 AM on Friday.  Thought maybe it was time to figure things out,

One of those episodes was the last episode for Khandi Alexander who's been with the show from the beginning.

I did have a chance to watch TRUE BLOOD tonight. I won't say it's the most brilliant thing I've ever seen, but it was an intriguing pilot and has lots of room to expand some interesting characters.

I'm very interested in hearing DRs opinions on HBO's TRUE BLOOD, especially those who are not familiar with Charlaine Harris' delightful novels.
This is the first series that I have been excited about since the onset, and I thought that Ball and the HBO team did a great job with only a half hour, hence I can't wait for next week's episode. . .and the next one. . .and the next. . .

DR Matt H. - have you read any of the novels?  (Which, like the HBO show, are in serial form).

No, I haven't read any of the novels, but I really liked a lot of the characters and enjoyed the mix of comedy and drama. (The opening scene was wonderful.)

And the men were EASY on the eyes.
