I'm not much of a snacker while watching television.

Der B and I do, however, have a bell-shaped glass jar sitting near the computer, filled with different flavors of Hershey's Kisses.  I think they're on sale again this week - just in time, because the jar is getting empty!

Glad to have sent the memory jog your way, Elmore!

The rain, of course, means that der B is refusing to even consider going to the Farmer's Market.  Spoil-sport.

Two votes and I'm back.

I have a craving for a piece of fried chicken. Or roasted. Or grilled. Or barbecued.

I have to get a new driver's license photo this month, so I am trying the "Lose 30 Pounds" approach. I'm not doing very well.

I think there's a Photoshop button for that, too.   ;)

Let me guess: a mostly meat and vegetable diet, with a small amount of fruit and limited bread/pasta.

The DMV doesn't use Photoshop for removing double chins here, td. They use it to inflate your face.

Initial HTWWW Report:  The seams are much, much better, but they are still visible from time to time (especially in dolly or tracking shots).  Forewarned.....

Check out the latter posts from last night, DR JMK. . . .

Then you'll just have to remember to sit on your heels, turn your head to the side, lift your head and make an unseemly fool of yourself. . .the DMV is full  of fools, anyway, isn't it?

That's actually pretty close!

I just got an email of the books that Sara Palin tried to suppress. The woman gets scarier as I see how tiny her mind is.

One obvious clue that this list must have been cobbled together from some source other than discussions that may have taken place in Wasilla in 1996 is that several of its entries (most notably the books in J.K. Rowling's popular Harry Potter series, which began in 1997) hadn't yet been published back then. In fact, versions of this list have been circulating since at least as far back as 1998, and is actually a catch-all collection of titles said to be "books banned at one time or another in the United States."

I never take anything said during campaign time as being true.

I'm embarrassed!  And I apologize. Thank you all for letting me know this is untrue. That still doesn't mean I like the lady.

Yes, DR FJL.....I recently received an email almost 2 1/2 hours after it was sent.  Very strange.

They had a showing of the NEW IMPROVED HTWWW on one of the Encore Channels last weekend.

Those Cinerama movies, even if they remove the projector lines....still have some weird perspective stuff going on.....when people move toward the camera or away from it....at least to these old eyes.

That's because it was filmed for those hugely curved Cinerama screens, not for the flat perspective screens it's shown on now.

I would not miss the Initials Game at all. I don't like competition between us here which was why I got so annoyed several weeks ago when it was made clear that the number of names each person was coming up with was the primary function of the game, or at least it seemed that way to me. We weren't working as a group of friends to compile a list any more. It seemed much more about who could get the most. And I wanted NO PART of that.

Anybody heard anything about the copycat production of ALL MY SONS opening in a couple of weeks?

We did it at PCPH in July, you know.

I believe that is the reason why the Miller Estate insisted it be brought back to New York quickly!

See my post above for my thoughts on the game - it was never a contest on this site - in the car, sure.  Not here.  Not the intention, and I stated that many, many times.

You stated that, but the feeling I ascertained from the "rules" (15 post limit and then 20 for the two of you) belied that for me which is why I wanted no more part of it.

I began my afternoon viewing with last season's first episode of THE OFFICE, hilarious in every way . And the outtakes, as always, contained a generous quota of laughs. A great way to start the afternoon.

I started listening to the audio commentary and got about 40 minutes in. Film scholars Susan White and Gaylyn Studlar have an intelligent conversation about the movie though I'm surprised to be this far into the movie and they haven't mentioned the leading lady's performance at all.

I'll have the remainder of the bonus features to watch tonight. There appear to be a fair number of them, so I might not get to watch FRINGE until tomorrow.
