Edisaurus - please send my best to Richard Sherman.  He's a great guy.  Also, McKormick and Shmick's is pretty terrible, at least the one meal I had there.  Hope someone's picking up the tab - it's very pricey.  And I do hope you'll be calling me.

I have been watching various episodes of "The Bob Newhart Show"  Great cast, great writing.   What fun.  Unfortunately , the episodes I was looking for were on Seasons 5 and 6 (which I don't think are released yet).

I have been busy planting a butterfly garden in my backyard. Today I counted six species of butterflies flitting around.

How many butterflies did you plant?

You'll have to come see, Kerry. If it all lives, it will be beautiful in a couple of years.

I forgot to mention what I watched as I cooked and ate lunch: RAISING THE BAR. I had read about the gay storyline, so I recorded last night's show and watched it today. The show is OK. Not great, thrilling legal drama, but it's OK. Pretty actors to be sure.

I, for one, sure hope it gets renewed (and since TNT reshows it at 1AM, I can always do a late taping). Did you see the earlier episode when the Wilson Cruz (of Rent fame) character was introduced?

der Brucer

It has been renewed already for another season. No, this was the first episode of the show I've ever watched. I may tune in again, depending on what other shows I'm watching at the time and how busy my workload is.

I am a big fan of Clive Owen. He got gypped out of the Oscar for CLOSER. By far the best thing in the movie.

I got an e-mail from the Disney representative apologizing for the lateness of the Blu-ray of TINKER BELL (which comes out next Tuesday). Supposedly, it's being overnighted to me and I should get it tomorrow. If I don't get it, I'll start on the next box set of Criterion discs - a sampler of 10 discs from their Rialto library. No bonus features on these discs, just the movies.

While waiting to begin prime time TV tonight, I watched the Director's Cut of DARE-DEVIL. No, not the newly released Blu-ray, but the DVD I got a year or so ago for about $4. The transfer holds up well, so I'm fine with keeping this and letting the Blu-ray pass right on by, especially since Fox's releases are the most expensive of the major studios on catalog titles.

I didn't quite get through it. The climactic fight between Affleck and Duncan had just started when I turned it off. I'll finish it tomorrow.

NCIS was an OK case. It didn't end as I expected it to, so that's always nice to be surprised.

FRINGE was also OK. I was angry that Mark Valley's name was in the credits and he didn't appear this week. Still, the weird conundrum of the week did hold my interest.

ELI STONE had another simply marvelous episode. I'm certainly no fan of Katie Holmes (thought she was terrible in BATMAN BEGINS), but she did a wonderful job in the song and dance department, and as the sweetly klutzy lawyer off to Africa. A truly romantic story (with twelve hot dogs instead of roses and that tearful airport scene), and I loved it.

Thinking about going to bed early again - rehearsal is pushed to 12:30 and CDs are "maybe" going to get here just before noon (if not, they'll be here when I return at three).  I still have to do postage for all the double CD orders and the overseas, but that shouldn't take longer than about twenty minutes.  And it shouldn't take longer than a half-hour to get them all packaged.  But I also have to get out my big online dealer order of five boxes - that's imperative.  Luckily, it's billed to a UPS number, and I've already filled out the forms, so I just have to drop them at the UPS store.  Then I have to drop the packages at the USPS, then I have to deliver the box of 100.  Then the next day, I'll send out the other big orders and that will be that.

I have been watching episode after episode of ADAM-12 season two. I am in heaven.

I do get distracted by street signs in the show...I keep wanting to know where they are filming and if by chance I may have drivin through the same neighborhood as Reed and Malloy (aside from the Universal backlot neighborhood).

Twice in as many episodes they have been called the an apartment complect called Isle Harbor. I wonder where that was at?

BK, I have enjoyed your enjoyment of DRAGNET, and I am with you on wanting official DVD releases of all the episodes of the old version and the 60s version.

Perhaps someday.

I spoke extensively about the locations on Adam 12, almost all of which I know and called out.  The back lot shots are easy to identify, but, as I wrote, there are some marvelous Valley locations - including a show shot literally two blocks from my house.

Well, they did release at least one set of Dragnet 67 or whatever it was called - it's great, and it, too, is loaded with great drive-by shots of the Valley, including one brilliant shot of my very own Gelson's circa 1967.

I'm really having fun playing online Scrabble through Facebook.  I'm in a game with some people I grew up with and two player games with total strangers.

My dvd of the night is astonishing!  Fellini's JULIET OF THE SPIRITS. . .

His first color film.  But you knew that.

. . .and such exquisite color!  I must buy this disc at some point in time. . .
