Topic of the Day: I've seen The Manhattan Transfer in concert seven times and all have been wonderful (to me, at least). The Washington Center for the Performing Arts, here in Olympia, used to have a performer or group come for their annual CenterFest celebration fund raiser (now they just have a catered party for the money people) and I've seen some incredible performers put on great shows...Bernadette Peters, Gregory Hines (just a few months before he died) and Tony Bennett are the ones that I can think of right now. Another performer who performed at the WCPA (but not for CenterFest) was Dianne Reeves. She was incredible! I LOVED Patti LuPone's concert that I saw in Seattle. Fantastic!

I don't think that I could pick a single performer/performance as "the best," though.

TOD: When I used to be a volunteer at the local PBS station, (back before the Vixter was born ) I was able to get 4th row seats to a Tony Bennett benefit concert . I was absolutely blown away by his performance

Good morning, all! I'm moving about slowly ths morning and listening to the demo CD of YANK!, which I saw at Brooklyn's Gallery players this year. The show's got an option and I wish the writers well with it.

I'd like to get most of the STUDENT PRINCE medley finished today, and my walk at 11 will be up to physical therapy. I'm hoping this will be the week with the property closing. Keep your fingers crossed.

TOD: Bette Midler, 1973, Cincinnati Music Hall, has to be the best live event I ever saw. She was in great form, the Harlettes were fantastic, Barry Manilow opened the second act with a group of his songs, and the band was cooking. A close tie would be Cleo Laine and John Dankworth.

TOD - Bette Midler is also my choice - her first concert tour when it played Masonic Auditorium in Detroit. Seeing her perform live again is the only thing that would get me back to Las Vegas, ever.

Barbara Cook at the Metropolitan Opera was pretty spetacular, too, as was Stars on Ice, when Scott Hamilton made his farewell performance.

Really intriguing Mad Men Season Two finale. I don't like Betty's decision....complicates a lot of things...and Peggy's decision to tell Pete the facts of life puts their relationship on a whole new level....particularly with Pete's situation with Trudy....

I think Joan is becoming one of my favorite all-time TV characters.....

And it was fun to see everyone at the after party out of their MM drag.
