A BOOSTER! :o  3 months is not a very long time.  I thought it was one shot per season. :(

Thanks for the info Ron.

If you get it now that's through the end of January which usually covers it.  Last year there was a late season outbreak in late Feb and an early flu shot maybe wouldn't have still been effective.  On the other hand, it takes 2 weeks to start working so ???

EquipmentYou will need a pasta machine for this recipe.

Ingredients (serves 6)
1kg pumpkin, peeled, cut into wedges
Olive oil, to drizzle
1-2 tbs chopped sage leaves
2 garlic cloves, crushed
1/2 tsp grated nutmeg
80g fresh breadcrumbs
100g parmesan, grated
100g fresh ricotta
3 eggs, beaten
175g unsalted butter
10 large (or 20 small) fresh sage leaves, torn
3 tbs mustard fruits, finely chopped*, to serve
Pasta dough
500g OO flour* or strong plain flour
4 free-range eggs
50ml white wine
2 tbs extra virgin olive oil
1 tsp sea salt
Method
To make the pasta dough, sieve the flour into the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with a dough hook. Add the eggs, wine, olive oil and salt, and knead slowly, allowing the mixture to come together. Knead on a low speed for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a floured workbench and work with your hands until smooth. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes to rest. (Alternatively combine ingredients on a floured work bench and knead by hand.)
Preheat the oven to 200°C.
Peel the pumpkin and cut into slices. Place on a baking tray and drizzle with a little olive oil (not too much). Season with salt and pepper, then roast in the oven for 30 minutes until soft. Cool slightly, then transfer to the bowl of a food processor and process until smooth.
Add the sage, garlic, nutmeg, breadcrumbs, parmesan and ricotta and process until just combined. Transfer to a bowl, then add the beaten egg.
Sprinkle your workbench with flour and pass the dough through a pasta machine, starting with the widest setting and working your way through the settings until the dough is thin enough to see your hand through. Cut the dough into manageable lengths. Drop scant tablespoons of the pumpkin mixture at 6cm intervals along one side of each strip of dough. Brush around the filling with a little water then fold over the other side of dough to enclose filling. Use your fingers to press around the filling to seal and expel any air bubbles. Use a 5cm scalloped-edged pastry cutter to cut around the parcels to form semi-circles. Let stand on a floured surface to dry.
To make the sage butter, melt the butter in a frying pan over low heat. When it's hot and sizzling, add the sage and turn off the heat.
Place the ravioli in a saucepan of salted boiling water and cook for 5 minutes. Use a slotted spoon to transfer ravioli to each plate and serve with sage butter and mustard fruits.
Notes & tips
* Mustard fruits are glace fruits preserved in a sweet mustard syrup; available from Italian delicatessens.
* OO Flour is available from selected gourmet food stores.

LOL
It looks like you're not the only one:

Quote
Malia Obama does not want her TV interrupted. Not even by her dad, Barack.

That’s what her mother, Michelle Obama, told Jay Leno today when she stopped in for an appearance on NBC’s “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.”

During the segment, Obama explained that 10-year-old Malia grew alarmed when she learned that her father, Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama, plans to air a 30-minute special program on several major television networks Wednesday night.

Obama said Malia asked her father, " 'You're going to be on all the TV? Are you going to interrupt my TV?' "

The Illinois senator assured her that her favorite programs would not be affected.

"He said, 'No, we didn't buy time on Disney and Nick.' And she said, 'Oh, good.' And she got up and walked away. She was just like, 'Don't mess with my TV.' "

We wonder how many Americans feel the same.

Tonight I shall watch NCIS and THE MENTALIST, and with the encouragement of what was written here last week, I will also jump over to ELI STONE at the end of the evening.

Why should I let Katie Holmes keep me from watching a show I really liked last year?

We had the same exact viewing slate for the evening.

And the answer to your question is: you shouldn't. She's not a regular. I think she's been signed for one or two more episodes (which will likely happen during November sweeps). The show is too entertaining and too special to let one's dislike of a particular actor keep you away. And besides, she might just fool you and do something you do happen to like.

I had some more phone calls which slowed down my return to the home theater room (aka the den). When I did get back in there, I managed to watch 3 1/2 more episodes of STREETS OF SAN FRANCISCO.

Loved the episode with William Smith and Denny Miller as bad guys.

The last episode I was watching and only got halfway through had Ida Lupino and Don Stroud as primary guest stars.

The one with Denny and William I mentioned above also featured a very young Tyne Daly as a grieving widow of an undercover cop that Sone (Karl Malden) was framed for killing.

I had 2/3 of a frustrating evening with my prime time viewing tonight. Primarily this was due to the local CBS affiliate's idiotic engineer who forgot to throw the high def switch forcing me to watch both NCIS and THE MENTALIST in their cramped 4:3 presentations. Later on, I'll be firing off an angry letter about this.

(And during the commercials during ELI STONE, I flipped back to see if anyone had awakened from a stupor and flipped the switch during WITHOUT A TRACE. Nope.)

NCIS had a pretty good little mystery with a neat little twist at the end. I enjoyed the show and might have loved it even more had I been able to see it in HD.

I am actually very curious about how many people will watch. With the constant ads, at least here, and so much politics on the news stations, will people watch a 30 minute commercial?

THE MENTALIST didn't accomplish quite as many surprising revelations as usual, and I kept shouting at Jane's boss at the end to OPEN HER EYES and look at the man she was with since he fit Jane's EXACT description.

Again, I might have cut the show a bit more slack if I could have seen it in HD.

I guess, however, that it gives me reason to be thankful for it every now and then when it's taken away from me.

I loved ELI STONE. The final conversation between Jonny and Victor at the end brought tears to my eyes. And then the ending was so fabulous.

I've been wondering the same thing, especially since the "commercial" is being marketed as a sort of wrap-up of his campaigning over the past two years, and not as something for any undecided voters to tune into.  However, I guess buying time on three networks more or less insures that someone will "stumble" on it.

I'm sorry to hear that DR Jane isn't feeling up to par.
I've been on antibiotics for two days now and I'm FINALLY beginning to feel the effects.
I'm about to begin watching the new CASINO ROYALE (1967) dvd; I've watched the five part making of documentary, and decided that I must now watch the film, which I won't mind since it does make me laugh quite a lot.
Unfortunately, I cannot get rid of my old copy of the film, since it has the live teevee version with Peter Lorre as Le Chiffre.
So for me, it's back to Bacharach OR there's a Bacharach in my future. . .

Well, so far, with the online store orders, there are only about three hundred CDs left, and I have the feeling that one online store, the one who ordered huge on the Bernstein, will up their order in the morning - they ordered two hundred less initially, but that's exactly what they did on the Bernstein, then upped it as soon as they listed it.  IF they were to up it tomorrow, that means there will only be about 150 left.  Pretty cool.
