Are you seriously telling us you cannot plug in some headphones at work and listen to something?

I'm seriously telling you that the I.T. department at work blocks network access to certain web sites like YouTube, eBay, FaceBook, and other productivity-sucking Interweb addresses.

Whoops!  They missed one...HHW!   And aren't I glad!!!   :)

Back from the long jog and storage - finding the chart was simple, so that was good.  It's been a crazy morning.  The good news is that one of our backup singer gals' husband is going to sound design the show for free - he's worked with Dionne and Burt so that should be great.  The bad news is that Michael Rupert dropped out - his mother is ill and he's going to visit.  So, I'm looking for a replacement for him.  Also, do any of our NY contingent know how to get hold of Evan Pappas.  Since Tony Roberts doesn't want to sing She Likes Basketball, I need someone to do it and Evan has done the role.  I asked Danny Burstein, but he's going to be out of town - or if anyone has other suggestions, I'm listening.

Evan Pappas was in a serious car accident a couple of years back and have not heard anything about him since. That was in january of  2007, http://www.playbill.com/news/article/106066.html

WHOOPS

I should have read on before posting. I am glad to hear he has recovered. I just never saw any news about it

Well, the printer lady and gentleman came and informed us that our $5000 machine is worth $500 in trade-in. And they can't get the parts to fix it.

Love Tina Turner but I am not a huge fan of either Mariah Carey or Whitney Houston

To be honest I would take Madonna, Kylie Minogue and Cher any day over Mariah or Whitney

Mariah cannot hold a light to Tina... They do not compare. I am also not a Christina Aquilera or Britney fan.

Whitney Houston is a has-been, a was.

Soup is in the kettle, cooking.  Simple leek and potato.  To be served with sausages made by Bruce Aidells.

The nice thing about a soup like this is that there's going to be lots of leftovers, which are easy to alter from the original by adding some more veg.

OK.  I'm sorry, I just don't get it...     WHY?    :)

I wouldn't invest in it, but it looks like fun. Actually it looks like a lot of work, but people would really stop and stare

There has to be a printer junkyard somewhere where parts can be had for next-to-nothing.

And there may well be some repair persons in the area who have access to those used parts who could fix the printer.

No one who deals in commercial printers can EVER (that's NEVER EVER) repair a machine that's out of warranty (unless you are renting it from them).  They want commissions on new machines.

bk, perhaps you should look into hiring operatic baritone Philip Cutlip to fill the vacancy in your lineup.  I have no vested interest whatsoever!    ::)

TAR was fun last night. And I was happy to see the departing team depart! LOL!

And what a ninny. I cannot believe the trouble people on TAR have with the eating challenges. I would have no problem what-so-ever eating any of those items that the have to eat in various countries. The food last night made me downright hungry!

Well rats.  Target realized it's mistake on the car seats and is canceling the orders.  They have it written in their fine print that they don't have to honor mispriced items, so there's nothing we can do about it.  Should have known it was too good to be true...

Good Evening!

It turned out to be a very nice afternoon for a brisk walk in some brisk weather.  The temps are definitely moving on down to the "colds", but today felt more "very cool" to me.  I ended up walking from errand to errand, a good 120 blocks.  -And the last 30 of those were with grocery bags in hand.

I guess I'll have to leave it to DRs Jose and JMK to explain what I was trying to get at here.  Singers who have talent and training can actually sustain the note without the "Trills or warbles" effect.

And it's not that I don't enjoy modern pop music.  I do like singers such as Adele, Duffy and Katie Melua.  And yes Pink!

American "Yodel" and its international equivalents seem hell bent on turning out clones who can be marketed for a quick buck and then disposed of just as easily.  I just don't "Get" it.

And I'm not against talent shows per se!

OK I'm an angry old (nearly 63) person who does not adapt well to the "new".

I'm not arguing with you, Tom....I was just hoping you'd identify which singers in the movie did the yodelling and/or warbling so I could associate the sound with your terminology.

Listen to "Listen".

*The scary part lately is that some songwriters - well, "melody writers" - are actually writing in all the variants and melismas and fall-offs.  Subsequently and consequently, some singers don't know what the "real" melody is of the songs in question.  Although, neither do the writers.  ;)

I left a message for Evan - hopefully he'll call back soon.  I've been running around - stopped at the Studio Cafe and had a barbecue chicken sandwich and a teeny-tiny side salad, and about four Buffalo wings.  No mail at all today.  Still awaiting a couple of e-mail responses and then I'll be through for the day.

I'm sorry Ann.  I didn't know stores had statements like that in the fine print.  I didn't know they could even do it.  Did they offer the car seat for an extra special oops price?

I've seen a couple of male heirs I would like to bare.

So has Stephen Sondheim.
