WARNING - I'M ABOUT TO START RANTING ---
Well, I think my own stupidity has just cost me the price of the item I just sold on ebay. When I set up my ebay selling account, I inadvertently attached it to an old paypal account that my usual e-mail account has been linked to for about eight years I use a different paypal account now, that's attached to the joint e-mail Jed and I share. This old paypal account was set up for me by my idiot of an ex-boyfriend, and he didn't trust online stuff so he made up all the information. I have the fake name, because the emails come addressed to said name, but I need at least the fake address or phone number to verify the account with Customer Service so I can get in, reset the password, transfer that payment out of the account, and close it down. But I have none of the information needed. It's all my own stupid fault for letting him do it for me, but I'd never bought anything online before in 2000, and I was scared to give them my real information too. So I let him do it for me. I never once logged in to that account, never attached a bank account number or a debit card number to it..it's an empty dud account that has been sitting there for eight years, except now it has my payment in it, and I can't get it out.
I haven't spoken to said ex-boyfriend in years, and with all the drugs he did after we broke up, I doubt he'd be able to remember the info he used anyway. I could just throw up I'm so mad with myself. I've changed the paypal info on ebay so this can't happen again, but I just essentially gave away that item. I mean, the seller paid for it, but I'll never get that payment. And without any identifying information, the nice customer service people, who clearly thought I was trying to perpetrate a scam, refused to help me.
Sorry, I needed to get this off my chest. My stupidity at the age of 19 is coming back to bite my 27 year old self in the butt.
