MEdia Check:

iPod:  Tony Bennett--A Swingin' Christmas
Kristin Chenowith--whatever the hell she's calling her Christmas CD
ootlegbays of DADDY GOODNESS and (hopefully) Stephen Sondheim's ROAD HOUSE

Tivo:  FANNY AND ALEXANDER

DVD:  not sure yet...

I have to get Ms Chenoweth's album; I don't want to hear her "American Idle" yodeling but i do want to hear my friend Jonathan Tunick's orchestrations.

The drawer needed to have one of it's bolts tightened. All's right with the world.

I went and headed on down here early since the internet was down at the apartment, and trying to respond to a batch of emails via iPhone is not the most expedient or non-frustrating way to do so, so.... I'm here.

Good morning, everyone. I shall post while I have a brief break.

The home sale has become a real roller coaster. The home inspection report was a disaster, with significant inaccuracies and many recommendations quite inappropriate to a historic home. I think DR Edisaurus would agree with me here--you should respect the architectural heritage of a building, rather than apply the standards of NEW construction to it. I'll stop there--believe me, I could go on and on and on. In any case, the buyers have been given some bad information and I'm not at all sure how this will turn out.

I have many personal business items to take care of today--eye exam, new tires for my car, others. Not fun, but necessary.

DR JRAND,
If you like mediation tapes, I'd recommend those from Dr Emmett Miller (drmiller.com). I've tried tapes from a number of sources and, personally, I like Dr Miller's the best.

Good morning!

Clear but very cold, and it's not getting out of the 40s today. But that sky is certainly beautiful: not a cloud to be seen.

DVD this weekend:

HAMLET 2

Maybe I, CLAUDIUS

We watched BURN AFTER READING last night.

It's not the Coen Brothers' best, but it is great fun.  Brad Pitt is a hoot.

I'm heading downstairs now to clean up so I can run my usual Friday errands. Don't want to be out in the cold any more than I have to.

I had the time wrong! My physical therapy is at 1, not noon as I recorded in my journal.

I think afterwards I'll walk over to my storage space and drag home a couple of cartons of things to sort through tonight.

I'm looking forward to tonight's GHOST WHISPERER.

Although i still have a bunch of shows from this week that i have not yet watched (HEROES, CHUCK, THE STARTER WIFE, DEXTER).

My sis also gave me episode one of TRUE BLOOD.  They are airing the other episodes in blocks of 3 every night in 2 weeks. So i'll be able to get them all.

DR Jose, that is interesting that you know the girl from hi-5.  I feel like i know her because i have watched so many hours of the show. She is very talented. I'm curious what genre of music she'll focus on. I"m just used to seeing her upbeat!

My niece would be very jealous!

Very interesting show. Although i am so glad with the result. I was not sure what would happen. I had seen the promo where bob told corinne the story about marcus' idol. I didn't think it could be possible. But the guy who does the previews in the montreal paper implied that it was real (i did not know if he had seen the show or if he was merely guessing).  I think it will be interesting next week. I guess everyone will know that kenny voted for matty to leave. Kenny and crystal sure had an odd plan. I couldn't figure out how it would work (as he was rambling).
He made it clear he would vote for matty and crystal would vote out corinne and that they would smoke out corinne's idol if it was real. What i could not understand is how they planned to do this. But i guess kenny nodding at her furiously at the tribal council was supposed to give her the message. Interesting plan. I'm not sure why they didn't just all vote out matty. I guess they wanted to know if the immunity idol was real or not. Sure glad to see corinne go. Did not like her at all. My favs are sugar and matty. Although i like bob as a person. They need to get him out though because he would have the jury vote.

I thought we had surmised that Jose's hint was about Shrek cancelling its preview.  No?

Survivor:  Jennifer, DS Betsy was similarly confused about the "plan."  I'm just glad about the result.  :)

TOD:  well, right now it's my choral arrangement of "Lonely Girl" from Harlow.  No time for CDs or DVDs, though I did wend my way through the BD of Casablanca yesterday, and Betsy and I started the BD of Mamma Mia last night.
