My mother saw A CHRISTMAS STORY last year for the first time. . .and the second time. . .and the third time. . .thanks to its marathon showing on one of those nice Turner channels.

We woke up this morning to snow --- the Vixter went out and cleaned off my car and started it up and got the heat going for me

that's the one - Vixdad LOVES that show... in fact a few years ago we (Vixter & I) bought him a Christmas ornament in the shape of a packing crate marked FRAGILE... when you open it it contains a second ornament -  a replica of the "major award"

Cilla - I love your new shades!

Thanks!   They are double cell, so they are also insulating, which is nice. Today I bought the laminate floor I'm going to put in.  It has to sit in the room for a few days before I can put it in.  I had second thoughts about the design I picked out, but I think it will really work and be unique, so I decided to go for it.

I can't believe how warm it is in my office. I only have the heat set to 63 tonight, but my office feels like 80. Good lord, it's warm in here!

When I went back into the home theater, I picked back up with DR. SYN. Really enjoyable film version of the story even if Disney had to abruptly slap a "The End" title card at the conclusion that seemed totally ill-fitting.

I have had the most peculiar thing happen. All of a sudden, my HD-DVD player will not recognize any remote controls. The player itself works fine when I use the play, pause, and chapter ahead buttons on the front, but no remote works with it, even with fresh batteries. I tried cleaning to front in case the sensor was blocked or smudged or something, but that didn't do any good at all. I really have no idea why it doesn't recognize either the remote that came with it or the universal remote that has the codes punched in for that model.

So, instead of watching THE THING on HD-DVD which I had planned, I just put in DR. NO once again on Blu-ray and watched that. At least THAT remote works perfectly.

DEXTER had a really wonderful episode tonight, the penultimate one for the season. Great cat and mouse stuff, a HUGE surprise at the beginning of the episode, and next week's season finale should be a corker.

I really enjoyed DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES tonight, too. I liked all of the storylines for a change.

I have to say since Gale Harold had his accident, it didn't surprise me that Susan and Mike are being inched back together. I really don't think that was the original plan for the season.

I had enough time to watch the first half of BROTHERS & SISTERS. A nice surprise finding out the father of Julia's baby, and I'll be curious to see how this news affects the family in the episodes to come.

And on TNT:

The Librarian: Curse of the Judas Chalice (the new third installment of the series). The first two re-run starting at 4PM. The interplay betwen Jane Curtin and Bob Newhart make it all worthwhile.

I just happened to see the TV listings just before this started and was able to set my DVR to record the HD version of this.  I don't know when I'll be able to watch it, but I'll have it recorded. :D

Today, we had another great show. ;D We have more people in today's audience than in last night's, but both were good audiences.  Now, we have three days off, but on Tuesday, I'm going to see Seven Brides for Seven Brothers in Seattle. :)

TNT's LEVERAGE is definitely a keeper; a Mission Impossible scenario with a very attractive cast, nice writing, good filming and super editing.
