I didn't realize that THE MENTALIST was going to be a repeat.

I'm running very behind this morning, so I need to head down, check the mail, and get lunch started.

Yes those are airplanes in my avatar.....

I watched the extras on the EASTER PARADE and BANDWAGON sets last night.  Interesting.  Of course there was also the Judy Garland By Myself American Masters program.

I also watched some of FINIAN'S RAINBOW.....got all the way up to "Old Devil Moon" - I like Fred and Petula, but Tommy Steele is so strange looking and Don Francks has an unusual look that I need time to think about......  And I think Hermes Pan had some problems.....I really hate it when the first thing a choreographer has EVERYONE do in a song is SIT DOWN!

Well, we're signed, sealed, and almost delivered and The Brain From Planet X can now officially be licensed via The Rodgers and Hammerstein Organization.

Good morning, all! I was out of bed around 8:30 to be at my doctor's by 9:15 for the lab work from yesterday's physical exam. After that, I went up to my storage space to lug hime a few cartons, then I had breakfast and here I am.  I'm feeling very puny today: I think I'm getting an abscess in my jaw which is aching quite a bit, and I feel like i'm about to come down with something.  So, I canceled my date for the Men's Chorus conceert at Carnegie Hall tonight and I'm going to stay in.

I have to walk up to physical therapy at 1 today, although I'd rather not, and that's my day.

TOD:
Janis Ian
Jacques Brel
Gordon Lightfoot
Dory Previn

Just to be on the SAFE SIDE, call your doctor and tell him about your jaw hurting.  A sore jaw -- and folks almost always presume it to be a localized something-or-other -- CAN be a symptom of an impending heart attack.

No alarmism, I hope, in my telling this, but BE SAFE AND BE SURE!

Not at all. The tip is appreciated. Look at my success with the diabetes diagnosis!

DR Jane - Are you still investigating setting up and using Skype?

It's actually pretty easy once you have all the hardware in place.  Well, it's supposed to be. ;)

DR Jane - You may want to look into getting - or giving - a Flip Cam.  They're relatively inexpensive, and the video quality is pretty good - as thousands upon thousands of YouTube users will tell you.

Random comments overheard this morning:

In an elevator with about six men from the Sheriff's Department:

"I want to show you something, but we'll need to meet in private."

In reception area of my agency's main offices where two ladies were having a discussion:

"I've never done it with a computer before."

I'm certain some very mundane things were being -- or were going to be -- discussed.  But it's fun to speculate about out-of-contextual scenarios.

Oh, that DR RON! And he looks so sweet in his photo. Who knew?

My news: the appraisal came in at full asking price. A big relief and a surprise, too, given the market. I priced the house according to comps, but what I felt was right, which was higher than my agent recommended. I KNOW she thought I was too high. So this was good news indeed.

However, the buyers have asked for a significant price reduction, based on that %&#%$ home inspection. I just don't believe that all those things are wrong with the house. For instance, the inspector said there was a puddle under the kitchen sink. It's completely dry!! It really is infuriating. I still have trick or two up my sleeve (note to DR Ron: don't misread that).

We shall see.

Thanks, Jose. And thanks to all who have sent their vibes. This isn't over yet. As Matt said the other day, once the sale is over I'll be ready to collapse!

With the upcoming Holiday Travel Season upon us, here's some good/bad news:

Tempting the Thieves With the Pocketables

Quote
Ellen Howe, a spokeswoman for the T.S.A., said Monday that the agency has fired 465 officers for theft since the spring of 2003. That is “a minuscule fraction of the work force,” she said.

She also said incidents were down sharply. In 2005, she said, the agency paid $3 million in claims for missing possessions or damaged bags. “This year it has been less than $1 million,” she said.

*And there will be a follow-up article next week focusing on safety tips and travel precautions.

It was pretty stupid to put her ipod in her suitcase. That would easily have fit into a carry on.   I guess I've lost my entire suitcase too many times to put anything in there I value.  I've always gotten my bag back, but once it took 30 days!
