The Little Orange Kitten is helping Sandra eat vegetable fried rice. She likes the broccoli and the rice.

I had a two-hour work session, then did some errands and ended up at the Cheesecake Factory for my splurge meal o' the week - the yummilicious spicy cashew chicken which, given my shrunken tummy, I only finished a little more than half of.  But boy was it good.  I had a few bites of a Caesar salad, too, and one piece of bread.  I went to the mail place where, dismayingly, there was not one piece of mail or any packages.  Perhaps tomorrow.

JMK, the February Kritzerland limited edition release I spoke of was not the Baja album.  That will be coming the first week of March with another reissue, Classical Broadway.

My local Borders did not have the 2-disc Special Edition of Mamma Mia! - the DVD - in stock today.

But I'm guessing that didn't stop you from wearing your green spandex "Dancing Queen" outfit, did it?

;)

WOW! Dancing Queen is playing on my IPod right now!! Scary

George, supposedly Kentucky has more deer now than they did in Dan'l Boone's time.  Unfortunately, that can be problematic.  They over-run some towns and people's yards.  And you see far too many dead ones on the freeway now; something I never saw when I was growing up here.  On our country roads, you have to drive very carefully.  And, yes, Singdaw, I worry about Lyme tick disease too and have to constantly tell The Lovely Wife to give them wide berth...If the dog got one that would be bad enough; it'd be worse if either she or I got one.

:o Yikes!

Good evening all.  It's cold outside.  Supposed to snow tonight and tomorrow.  Here's hoping work is delayed or closed.

For singdaw - my healthy cookie recipe.  It's a modification of one on found online, made to suit my tastes

Ingredients -
4 c. flour
2 1/2 c rolled oats
1 1/2 c brown sugar
1 tbsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
2 tsp cinnamon
5 eggs whites
1/4 cup applesauce
1 jar baby food fruit mix (I use a banana/apricot blend) *or increase applesauce to 1/2 cup
1/8 cup oil
1 c. raisins
-optional, 1 c chopped walnuts.

Preheat oven to 350.  Mix dry ingredients except for raisins in a bowl.  In a separate bowl mix egg whites, applesauce, baby food, and oil.  Make a well in the middle of the dry stuff and pour in the wet mixture.  Mix on low until you can't anymore, then use your hands.  Add the raisins and mix well.
For making cookes you can either use an ice cream scoop or make golf ball sized balls with your hands.  Flatten them down to about half an inch before baking, they don't spread much in the oven.
Bake at 350 for about 8 minutes, or until just barely done.  The key is to underbake them slightly, so they're moist.  I make a batch and freeze them, and thaw out 2 or 3 for breakfast every morning.  Easy to grab and take in the car.

For Cillla, they are 2 POINTS each, and very filling.  The nuts would be more POINTS, though.

Until later!

Had a fun evening of viewing. I began by finishing REUNION IN FRACE. A surprise ending I didn't see coming. Not a great film, but an earnest one, interesting especially since it was made when the outcome of the war was very much unknown.

Next, I pulled out the Abbott & Costello Volume 1 set and watched one of my favorite of their films - HOLD THAT GHOST. Hadn't seen it for decades, so it was nice catching up to it again.

NCIS had a Christmas themed episode with a murderer I didn't guess. I should have; the clues were there, but it got past me.

THE MENTALIST once again didn't do much with its gimmick this week which is good, I guess, since I suppose it would get tired if used excessively every week.

The infamous Elisabeth Roem was the guest star, Jane's former psychiatrist. I did guess the murderer in this episode. Hooray!

Very late this afternoon, the UPS delivery man did bring me something to work on the next few days - Season 2 of THE TUDORS. I had been expecting it, and I certainly don't have to rush getting it done. It doesn't come out until January 6th.
