Ina Garten's Fruitcake Cookies

Nobody really likes fruitcake, but they love these cookies—they’re so delicious!

Actually, DR singdaw, I have a fruitcake recipe that's quite wonderful, but I do detest commercial fruitcake, Dolly Madison's or a Trappist monk's, among others.

I've run errands with my friend Alan, wrapped Randy's and Jo's gifts, and I will leave around 4 to see my friend Loyce and have dinner with her and others.

So, BK, I wish tonight's Do a huge success, I wish DR singdaw a safe dental trip, and I wish everyone else a joyous day. I'm gonna watch the soaps with Jo.

Good Afternoon!

Greetings from MoMA's Cafe 2 where I just enjoyed a wonderful Christmas Eve lunch.

*And I also enjoyed their Peppermint Hot Chocolate. The Peppermint came from schapps. And from the way it tasted - and the way I feel right now - there was a lotta schnapps in that cup. <hiccup>

OK Time for me to take another walk through the Van Gogh exhibit. Hopefully, I won't be stumbling. Or breathing on too many people.

Laters...

Yes, DRMBARNUM - Vera West at Universal did some wonderful work in the 30's and 40's.  I don't think she is as celebrated as some of her contemporaries.

Me too, if it is good & has some cake in it.  I don't like the kind that is mostly dried fruit.

Gee.....Vera West died in 1947 at the age of 49.  She worked on over 300 films at Universal beginning in 1931.  But of course if she was the department head, she might have had the screen credit although others did some of the work.

Today I'm shlepping my disabled cousin around for various and sundried errands... I think I'll delay all that until late this afternoon, which means I can dress for the BK Christmas Eve Do before said shleppage, then drop her off, and head straight down the 101 to Laurel Canyon. Such a good plan!!

I need to get out of my fudge funk.

DR Jennifer, I think you have a new Christmas song in the making there...

DR Tomovoz - if you haven't heard of David Sedaris, you haven't been reading all the posts!    ;)       Enjoy your new discovery.  He's a blast!

We brought two David Sedaris CD collections for our drive across the mountains yesterday.  They made the trip quite pleasant.
