DR JANE - Flip wrote in March on IMDB that he is still living in Phoenix and working as a 911 operator for the police department.

He says he married his high school sweetheart in 2003!

DR JRand, as of March I guess nothing has changed for Flip since I saw him.  If we ever get to Phoenix we will definitely see him, as well as DRs Laura & Sandra.

Thanks MBarnum, JRand and Ginny.   I have turned the water on once and turned it off again. Since I don't have water flowing out of the pipes anywhere, I don't see the harm in turning it off and on as needed.  (If you know what I mean)

I also went to the office and got some work to do here tomorrow and called the AM client and left a message to call before coming to her appointment, just in case I can't get there.   SO, if the plumber I called can't come in the morning, I have another I like that I can also call.

I like that dance, DR JANE!

Hmmmmmmmmm.....seems like Charles Herbert had a rougher time of it than Flip.

Charlie says that Doris Day didn't say anything at all to the boys playing her children in  PLEASE DON'T EAT THE DAISIES and didn't even want the kids to have close ups in scenes with her.....David Niven was completely the opposite....

FROZEN PIPES - that sounds like a Edgar Ulmer movie that would star Ann Savage.

How many of you have local TV channels that have fully converted to HDTV (meaning even the local news shows are done in HDTV)?

How long will it be before the majority of TV will be 16x9?

When we get HDTV broadcasts on a standard TV will we get the sides chopped off or will it be letterboxed.

der Brucer

All but one channel that does local news have gone HD. I'm guessing once the analog feeds are cut and every broadcast is digital, 4:3 TVs will see those HD news broadcasts letterboxed, but that's just a guess.

We watched "Sleepy hollow" last night.  Our first ever viewing!  (Of course we used the Austrian subtitles).  What a wonderful "balanced"and paced film.   "Sweeney Todd" of course was near perfection IMHO.

I have it on Blu-ray, and the stylized look is STUNNING in high def. Glad you liked the film. I liked it very much; found it very effective.

I began my evening by finishing the NCIS episode I had started late in the afternoon. After I saw all the suspects, I guessed the murderer's identity correctly.

Next I watched THE INVISIBLE BOY on HD-DVD. It's one of the bonus features on the FODBIDDEN PLANET HD-DVD, and here is this little 1957 programmer in 1080p! Warners did no clean-up on their master, so there are scratches and dirt from time to time. But it really does look quite good.

The story fooled me. I was sure it would all turn out to be a dream. That it didn't disappointed me as the story ended up being ridiculous even for sci-fi. The little boy with just a 130 I.Q. suddenly has the expertise to rebuild Robby and beat his genius dad at chess in six moves? Uh, no.

After that, I returned to one of my favorites, a film I manage to watch three or four times a year: THE HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES (Peter Cushing/Christopher Lee). I always enjoy seeing it again. Once more, of course, one has to endure the nonanamorphic MGM transfer.
