A few gratuitous posts ought to do the trick ...

Well, then we're in good hands!    :)

I wonder if the sounds I'm hearing are belated NYE fireworks or gunfire??

Thanks, Tom.

Who's Howie Greenfield?  Any relation to our own DR GreenSleeves?

Why do people never remember Lyric writers?

Oh, but they WILL remember Johnny Mercer. I hope!

A restaurant is not conducive to surgery recuperation.

I should think not!  May the New Year also include a perfectly healed knee for your mother.

My mother and I thank you, Jane! :D

What a great partay we're having.  I watched about half of Cluny Brown, Ernst Lubitsch's final film - it's a complete delight - charming, and laugh out loud funny and Boyer is something of a revelation - brilliant comic delivery and timing.

DR JOSE it's supposed to be near zero degrees in NYC tonight.....

It actually did not feel that cold tonight, at least not to me.  Yes, the occasional gusts of wind did add to the chill, but, otherwise, it was bearable.  -But, then again, I have a good jacket, a knit hat, 180s earmuffs, gloves and a scarf.  :)

I then did my annual New Year's Rockin' Eve contemplation - it's a long-standing tradition even though I am not standing when I do it.  I do it in the bedroom, in complete darkness, just me, my thoughts, and my hopes and wishes for the New Year along with the many things I'd like to make better, in terms of me as a human being.  And now, we are counting down till our second ball drops.

I think we need some revelry around here.  Perhaps a recitation of The Randy Vicar and the Dropping Balls.
