Wife Sandy is overwhelmed by all the birthday wishes, and she thanks each and every one of you.

We will be going to our local Todai today for her birthday sushi feast.

There's a little bit of alphabet meatball soup left, and only broth from the matzo ball soup left.

Oh-My-Gosh  my first Rose parade with HD!  It's soooo beautiful!   It's like I'm there!

I vow that someday, I will see the Rose parade in person.

Did anyone see the float with the movie posters?  I loved The Day The Earth Stood Still.  And I think that was the robot from Lost In Space.

Well, I almost NEVER imbibe alcohol - but yesterday was an exception... and even the smallest shot of Absolute vodka made my head spin. Another head-spinner was some bites of probably the most luscious and delicious fresh mozzarella I think I have ever tasted!!

This resolution is one I make most days: to be Present. I sometimes find myself missing so much of my life, through thinking back or thinking forward... so the gift I most want to give myself is This Moment.

Being truly Present is pretty easy up at the cabin - feeding the birds, gardening, hanging with the raccoons, alla that. Trick is to bring all that down the mountain with me. Not the critters and the trees, but the sense of Being Here.

Todai is such a wonderful eatery!!! My brother and I took his son Travis to the Seattle Todai for his UW graduation party three years ago... along with 20 of his friends. A really superb restaurant for special occasions! Enjoy!!!

Wow! I only had cranberries in mine. I feel cheated.

Joshie misses his playmate. Sasha has informed him in no uncertain terms that she does not wish to play. So I tied a shoelace to my belt loop, and he has been following me around all morning.
