I loved the Monkey pictures at the MOMA. :D

Voldemort is basically a middle school girl: he has a locket, a diary, a tiara, a ring, and is completely obsessed with a teenage boy.

Thank You, DR Dan (the Man).

*I sent the link to the photos to Twitter folks at MoMA.  Not really expecting a response, but would be cool if I did.

**And to continue the series, I think I'm going to keep it alliterative: Monkey at the Met... at the Metropolitan... at the Morgan... at Macy's... ;)

I went down the basement about 7:30 and decided to just sort of look at the bathroom to decide what I'm going to do next. So I put a little paint on the wall.  Cut a slice of the wall paper off and taped it up (still not sure about it) Then I looked at the monstrosity of a cupboard. Ok, it would be a fairly small cupboard in a bigger space, but this isn't a big space.

I decided the only reason I wasn't taking it down was a fear that it would hit me in the head and I would lay on the basement floor for a week before anyone found me...or something like that.  I decided that was silly, got out the screwdriver and took the thing down.  It was easy and really not very heavy.   Man does that open up the space.   I also discovered that plain water on the paper backing takes it off.  So, I am going to do things right and if I'm feeling up to it after work will finish stripping the wallpaper.  I hadn't planned to do this much right now, but I don't want to be carrying paint cans over the new carpet so I'm trying to get it all done before then.

Now I must get to sleep. I'm going to go to work in the morning.  I gave Edith the day off.  The truth is it's been a long time since I had a day there myself and I like to just be there alone every once in awhile.   Better get some sleep/  Night

I've loved SCROOGE ever since the eighth grade class trip I took to go see it at a movie theatre.  And I remember how angry I was with the yearly television showings (only on New York channel 9, I think) where a couple of segments were cut out.  I don't think I saw the film in its entirety until it was issued on VHS.

If I have one issue with the movie, it's the Scrooge in Hell segment.  It seems so out of step with the rest of the movie in look and tone that I often thought it was done with another director but I've never heard of any such story.

But other than that, I love the film.  I think all of the numbers are perfect (well, not too sure about what Alec Guinness is singing, but it fits the mood.)  And while Albert Finney only comes in as my third favorite Scrooge (Alastair Sim and Mr. Magoo are #1 and #2), there are no better Ghosts of Christmases Past and Present than Dame Edith Evans and Kenneth More.

Seriously, DR Jose, I think there's a book idea in this.  Something like a childrens book aimed at adults kind of thing.  And maybe a whole series...

...and don't forget a full page ad in New York Magazine featuring Monkey at Magnolia...

Finished with my viewing for the evening.  I watched one episode of Mannix - guest stars were Nancy Kovak, Robert Reed, and Lloyd Bochner.  Terrible script.

I've come across a couple of photo series/sets on flickr.com where people have placed various stuffed animals or other objects in various settings.  There's a great set of photographs where someone took a set of letters - like house numbers/letters - around the globe.  Very inventive and beautiful.
