DR Jennifer, I'm glad the procedure went well.  It is odd they had to transport the fluid themselves.  How many days does your sister need to stay in bed?

GOOD RESULT VIBES!!

I would add celery to the chicken salad.

DR Jennifer - sorry I didn't get some vibes to you before your sister's procedure.  Glad to hear it went smoothly, but I'm mystified as to the next step you describe.  Nothing like that was required when I had amnio in Cincinnati 24 years ago.

Vibes of calm as they await the results...

As for the Topic of the Day....

Book: "The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay"

Movie(s): "Cinema Paradiso" ("Longtime Companion", "Slumdog Millionaire")

Play: As Is

Musical: Sunday in the Park with George

These made me think of others.

Ditto Amazing Adventures

Ditto Longtime Companion

Ditto As Is and add Normal Heart

Ditto SITPWG and add Falsettos (the whole thing)

Yes it is odd that they had to transport it themselves. To another hospital across town. And on a freezing day with no notice. At least if they had told them people could have made arrangements.

I think she has to stay in bed for 24 hours.

re: the celery. I would like the flavor. But i am not crazy about pieces of celery. So i may put some in the food processor and hope it gets fine.

Yeah it's waiting the 3 weeks for the results that is hard.

I can't imagine transporting your own baggie is that common!

You'd think that there would be some sort of rules against that. Even though it's all closed it doesn't seem that sanitary for anybody to be transporting their own fluids.

cranberries.

I'm trying to make chicken salad (like what you spead in your sandwich) for the first time.

Only i'm not sure what to put in it other than chicken and mayo.

Celery?  This is going to be quite an experiment since i won't want it to be too processed!

Stop worrying about it.  Just put in what you know you like.

DR Jennifer - That was in reference to your pending chicken salad, not your sister's amnio. ;)

It's good to hear that all went well with the procedure.

Looks like another summer day outside, although for some reason this morning is really cold inside the home environment - 62 when I got up.  I'm heating it up a little.

cranberries.

Nothing weird or crazy about any of those additions to me.  -Now, I don't think I would put all three of those together at the same time, but...

Relish is much easier to add instead of chopping up pickles.  -And a lot of classic chicken salad recipes call for pickles/relish, since it's just like tuna salad, but using chicken instead.

Now, I'd probably use the feta and cranberries together, and probably add some walnuts or almonds too to the mix.  -There's a great salad combination of feta, cranberries and toasted hazelnuts mixed with radicchio and romaine.

As for relish of any kind or pickles-YUCK!

Jennifer, you might start simple & slowly add things to try.  Then with your first test run you can decide what you like the best.

DR Jennifer, I am so surprised your sister had to drive the fluid to the lab instead of going straight home to rest that I did a brief google search.  Resting, or taking it easy, is highly recommended.  I also read different times needed for the results.  They were 7 to 10 days.  I wonder if your sister calls in two weeks if the results might be in.

Continued vibes all is well!

DR MBarnum - Did you happen to catch this profile of Akshay Kumar in yesterday's NY Times?

Actor of the New India Chasing Raw Ambitions

thanks for posting that story, I had not seen it!

Akshay Kumar was my very first favorite Bollywood actor.

I just read that they are planning to close down The Motion Picture Country Home due to lack of funds.

Let's hope some of those multi bilionaire movie stars and producers will chip in and do something about this!

My friends at the Phoenix are doing a show that features many languages including ASL.  They open tonight and had their preview last night.

Because she is in town with the Dancing With the Stars tour, Ms Marlee Matlin came to the show last night with her partner, Alex, and a couple of the other dancers.  She enjoyed the show.  I asked Bryan if she had her Oscar in her purse, but he didn't know....
