It looks like your copy of the painting was cropped.

Ron, I am leaving Northern Virginia and returning to LA.

California is blessed while Northern VA will be desolate and inconsolable!

Oh, Ron, aren't you sweet!

What a world....so many famous folks dying.

Sadly, the vast majority of our population probably never heard of 'em.

Packing, take the window out, & moving vibes for DR Jeanne.

Lets hope that wherever she takes out a window, no one puts in a door.

der Brucer

LOL. Actually, the previous owners installed a completely useless door in the dining room. (There are double french doors just a few feet away.) I had thought about taking out that door and installing a window. But I won't.

It was borrowed by M. Night Shyamalan and never returned.

And you could usually easily spot the earring that she is searching for.

Just read about the Cole Porter review with Victoria Clark and David Hyde Pierce at Lincoln Center.  It sounds de-lovely.  I hope it's being recorded--or better yet, broadcast on PBS.

What? With the delousy "see how hard I'm acting" Victoria Clark?

I like women who show effort.

You should have to work with her!

A lovely package just arrived at my desk containing the first of many cast recordings that I've neglected to pick up over the past few months--the OLC of IRMA LA DOUCE and the world premier recording of DEAR EDWINA.  Transferrring them to the ol' iPod now...

ASSOCIATED PRESS

Quote
British Writer, Lawyer John Mortimer Dead at 85

LONDON —  British lawyer and writer John Mortimer, creator of the curmudgeonly criminal lawyer Rumpole of the Bailey, died Friday. He was 85.
Mortimer's family said he died early in the morning at his home in the Chiltern Hills northwest of London, with his wife and children at his side. They did not disclose the cause of death.

Mortimer combined a career as a lawyer with a large literary output that included dozens of screen and stage plays and radio dramas. His most famous creation was Horace Rumpole, a cigar-smoking, wine-loving barrister who appeared in a TV series and a string of novels and stories.
