Would that be a cajun dance, or a cousin to a pink flamingo?

Aha - Lime Jello with pineapple.

It's grape jello that gets the grapefruit sections.

It was the nudity associated with the wrestling matches in the Jello filled tub.

I associate lime Jell-o with Halloween.  Don't ask me why.

Can anyone give me the correct spelling of a word that is used in conjunction with Bossa Nova the music of Antonio Carlos Jobim that sounds like "soldage", having to do with nostalgia? I have googled different spellings and can't find it, but I figured JMK, bk or someone else here might know. ( I know JMK has a busy day today and might not be around!)

Quote
Jobim incorporated Gilberto's syncopated sound into song after song, finding that its supple form lent itself equally to irresistible melodies and jazz improvisation.

''Tom was always open to many musical ideas,'' says Nascimento, speaking from through an interpreter. Jobim wrote the music on most of the songs on Chega de Saudade, the 1959 Gilberto album that is bossa nova's ground zero (Brazilian poet Vinicius de Moraes was bossa's first lyricist). On the cover that Nascimento and the Jobim Trio recorded of Chega's title track, you can hear bossa's cool jazz influences, understated vocal style and playful pop openness -- plus the sound of a train in Minas Gerais. Bossa nova has become the soundtrack for lounges and cocktails, but with its plaintive tunes, it was created more for unhappy hours than happy ones.
According to Ed Morales' book The Latin Beat, ''An untranslatable Portuguese word roughly meaning melancholic nostalgia, or a longing for homeland, saudade is key in the bossa nova aesthetic.'' Saudade is the Brazilian blues, Daniel Jobim says.

saudade, pronounced so-dajh-ee, which actually means kind of sad nostalgia

My in-laws seemed to think Jello was healthy, or something. They made Jello and put just about anything in it. My DH had enough growing up, and Sandra seems to think Jello w/spaghetti was gross.

Initially, thing are OK for the M-I-L. She's still in the hospital, but is doing PT, and the F-I-L is also coping better. This has been a big wake-up call for all of us and a good opportunity for my DH to spend some QT with the P's.

Good news & vibes there will soon be better news!

Saudade is that kind of wistful homesick feeling when you're away for a long time.

DR Laura, thanks for posting the orange kitten video. When I had everyone over for Christmas brunch, my mom complained about my not having a tree up. "I had 6 cats and still put up a tree". (Never mind the fact that our house is so small there really isn't a place to put one...)

Now I can just say: "See"? Imagine this same thing with a 16 pound cat!

I'm with your mother, unless you don't want a tree.  It sounds like you made lovely decorations around the house.

If you really want a tree, just get a small one & decorate with nonbreakable items.  You might be pleasantly surprised. :)

DR Laura I wish you had a video of the big cat in your tree. ;D
