I ran into Paul and one of his friends at the coffee shop this morning.  He talked about wanting to come to my office and finish the sign in my window.  It looks finished to me, so I don't know what he's talking about.  I didn't bring up the election, but of course his friend had to say " I can't believe anyone would vote for McCain, but we'll just have to not talk about that because I really want to like everyone" Oh puhleese.    I really don't have time for that. I'm glad I was in a hurry to go to the office and had my to go cup in hand.

Ugh! The last few days have been a real exercise in the perils of being a pack rat and the advantages of minimalism. A lot of what I'd "saved" I hadn't really saved (intentionally) at all; it just piles up and I don't always have time to go through it. Sigh.

I'm not as far along as I'd hoped to be. The packers arrive this coming Thursday, the movers the day after. Matt has disassembled all that needed such--my stationary bike, my desk, my linergie chest. Plus he took down the antique chandelier that I'll take with me and installed an inexpersive, but quite decent one in its place. Done.

But still lots to do. DR DRUXY is quite right to start early. I started early, too, and it's still a big task.

There must be a joke in there somewhere when you use the words chest and lingerie in the same sentence, but I am not witty enough to figure it out.   FJL?

Yep.  Just scroll back.  ;)

-Although, I'm guessing it will be up to each local provider if they will "hit the switch" again later tonight at 7:00pm and 11:30pm.

JRand, I have been a traveler for years, but since last summer, I just haven't wanted to leave my house.  It's nice to know I actually want to go somewhere again.

I am loving this HBO broadcast; I keep getting all teary.

Same here.

And I'm so glad that it was not programmed as a "Greatest Hits" type of affair.  Very tasteful. Very patriotic. Very inclusive. Even sacred.  Definitely something that will be staying on the DVR for a while.

And then Beyonce showed up to bring me down with her lousy rendition of "America the Beautiful."

There was an AMERICAN IDOL contestant, or finalist, or winner singing the National Anthem at the Cardinals Eagles game this afternoon that was a total knockout.  Somebody Sparks?

Guess I'll head down now to clean the bathroom, put away the already folded laundry, finish the NCIS episode that I stopped halfway through, and then get back to Boston for CHEERS.

Does any DR happen to know which rendition of "On My Own" (from Les Miserables) Caroline Zhang just skated to? -Well, the special was filmed back in December, but you know what I mean.  ;)

DR Ginny are you seriously looking or just looking to see what's out there  (at houses, that is)

I'm wondering the same thing.  You sort of left us dangling there ;)

I just finished watching a 1931 poverty row film which starred David Manners. It was great fun! But now I don't know what to watch next.

I haven't watched any of the inauguration...in fact I have never watched any inauguration...but I will read about it in the newspaper.

I am enjoying DR Jose's description. I really think this president will do a good job, at least as far as trying to bring people together, instead of apart. Of course it is really up to "the people" to follow through with it.

I'm going to suggest to both parties that in future the inauguration ceremonies include a "Mr America" demonstration so that you will pay more attention to politics.
