Whew.....a library with a swimming pool and a skating rink seems more unusual to me than a library that allows dogs to browse.   But I am from Indiana.

The library does not have a swimming pool or skating rink. They are just all housed in the same building!

Speaking of libraries, when i went to mine the librarian was waiting for me holding a packet of 5 books that i had reserved.

It is very weird because there are probably 10-20 librarians who work the front desk. AND i do live in montreal (although each suburb has their own library. But still there must be 50-100,000 people who live in my suburb!

TOD:

Ask bk

Is there any genre of film that you absolutely loathe:)

I don't like the graphic horror genre.

I finally got the first book in the Sookie Stackhouse series, Dead Until Dark. I will see how similar it is to the tv series. If it is very similar then i will probably only read book 1 (which is the first season of TRUE BLOOD).

I would like to recommend a series i'm reading now. It's by Scott Westerfeld. They are Uglies, Pretties, Specials, Extras. I've read the first two. And i think if anybody liked the Twilight series that they would like these books.

Bk, how long is the long jog in minutes?
Bk, how long is the long jog in distance?

(you have probably mentioned this during my times of E and T, so excuse the repeat if that is the case)

I go at a very measured pace - fifty minutes.
Four miles.

TOD:

What is your favorite routine by a comedy team that all DR's might not be familiar with -

Nichols & May - The Bargain Funeral

May:  And just where did you hear about our service?

Nichols:  I saw the ad in the TV Guide.

There's a snippet of that in the PBS doc MAKE 'EM LAUGH, which I just reviewed.

May:  Would you like any extras?

Nichols:  Well, like what?

May:  A casket?

LOL - that's the one!

I also liked the bit of theirs of the astronaut calling his mother.

Reportedly from the recent Sondheim/Frank Rich "interview" at Avery Fisher Hall:

[regarding "Green Grow the Lilacs" and "Oklahoma"]

Sondheim:  " 'Green Grow The Lilacs' is a very bleak play about homosexuality. Would you get that from 'Oklahoma!'? I don't think so."
Frank Rich: "From some productions!"

Well, you always did wonder what Jud was doing behind the silo!  He wanted Curly for himself.

DR Jennifer the self check out also includes disabling the motion sensor.  I swipe my card, swipe the book, & then press the book against the sensor.

I never imagined any dogs eating the books. ;D  They had to be leashed & well behaved.  I could understand changing the dog rule for the new building, not the old one.  Sigh, Ashland was far more dog friendly when we first moved here than it is today.  We still have plenty of stores we can go into but alas, fewer outdoor restaurants we can sit at.  Dogs are considered a health hazard while birds, rats, & dirt aren’t. ???  It is odd we can sit outside with Sherlock at the restaurants along the main street, we just prefer not to.  For one Sherlock takes up half the sidewall & nothing ruins a meal like a big truck parking right next to you while it unloads its goods.  Second it is nicer along the walkway overlooking the creek.

Of course, if I were completely anal, I would have said an hilarious riff.

And then would be subject to a pendantic post as follows:

Use of "a" and "an" before words starting with the letter"h":

If the "h" is pronounced, use "a" (like hilarious or human; if the "h" is silent, use "an" (like hour or honest). Words staring with "u" and "o have similar problems- "once" and "universal" take an "a")

DAW, is that picture from FAO Schwartz?

I often grab indiscriminately from the Internet, and don't always pay attention to what exactly it is that I'm grabbing!

Sounds like indiscriminate bath-house behavior.

Also, i can't even imagine a library letting dogs in.  It sounds very odd to me. What if they chew on a book?

Our local bookstore used to invite owners with pets to brouse (even provided treats and a water bowl). I suspect most dogs have better book manners than do most children.

What State Department would one contact to add a name to an existing property deed?  I can't seem to find the right dept/form on the inner nit.

Deeds are registered at the County level.

DR DtM - I never saw the whole movie.....it premiered and closed in one night....and I was working that night.....although it seems like some more of it is on You Tube.

Thanks DR derBRUCER.....I shall continue my research.

DR TOMovOZ - the Australian horror movie I watched is called THE SURVIVOR with Robert Powell and Jenny Agutter....   The lone survivor of an airplane crash, the Captain, tries to find out why he walked away without a scratch when everyone else perished.  He finds out.
