Although, I think if DR CILLA LIZ wore it into court some morning - she might not even have to present her closing argument.

If it looks like this once you get off of the train, DR Laura, run fast.

It is still under construction, I discovered; but it will look like this:

Very nice to see that Universal is dipping into their film vault once again,  instead of just releasing their umpteenth DVD of THE MUMMY.

This set I am most looking forward to, particularly as I have not seen a single one of these films!

I'm hoping to get one when I get my tax refund.  The condo complex is replacing all the roofs and mine is scheduled to be done this spring.  I can buy the skylight and flashing and the company that is installing the roofs will be able to install my skylight (for a charge, of course), but I'm hoping the installation will cost less than if I had them come at any other time, since they're going to be on the roof of my three-story condo anyway. :)

I forgot about your lack of windows.  Too bad you can't add windows instead of replacing a good skylight.  Make sure you get a guarantee against leaks from the workman as well as the window company.

I wonder if Kyra knows how much she was upstaged by Kitty throughtout the closing minutes of tonight's opening scene?

 ;D  Kitty was soooo cute.

How on earth did I miss Kitty???

I don't know.  She was on the bed.

First three guesses....and then the reveal.  ;D

I see the word "Matic" behind her--is she demonstrating the New Portable Dream-O-Matic 6000?

REVEAL:

June 6, 1950. "Vis-O-Matic department store." A Vis-O-Matic spokesmodel, or perhaps even the queen of Vis-O-Matic, the Canadian catalog store whose slide-projection system of displaying merchandise was like a Buck Rogers premonition of online shopping. The Vis-O-Matic phenomenon seems to have been short-lived, with hardly any documentation online aside from these photos in the Life archive, and no word of its fate. Photo by Bernard Hoffman.

That would have been my next guess...

I adore Kitty, but I missed her (or him according to Brenda), too!

It's not snowing yet and all the snow that we got this morning has disappeared.

I wonder if I should go to 30th Street Station and meet all the trains from NYC holding a sign that says "FISH"?

I watched Friday night's PSYCH while I ate lunch. Cute episode with some really funny lines from Shawn this week. Gus didn't have as much to do. A very funny reference to LAW & ORDER that made me laugh since Milla was once on the show and got dropped. A pretty good mystery, too, as I was completely fooled.

I spent a good portion of the afternoon with SPACE BUDDIES. A typical innocuous Disney family comedy-adventure, but it makes THAT DARN CAT! look like CITIZEN KANE. The Blu-ray was only above average in image quality though the DTS-HD MA 5.1 sound was very active.

Watched the bonus features, too. There were some staged flubs with the dogs (and some real flubs with them, too). But the best bonus was a documentary that combined behind-the-scenes looks at the making of the film with the history of real space exploration. It wasn't organized all that well, and facts fly by that would need fuller explanation from parents with their curious children, but it did provide a pretty good jumping off point for discussion about outer space travel and the space program.

DR Laura - we are getting new carpet in two rooms tomorrow!  I took pictures of the old, and will post to photobucket; I'll take pictures of the new once it is laid.

My favorite Christmas albums are Elaine Paige's, Doris Day's, Brian Setzer's and Nancy LaMott's.  Maybe this year a certain handsome man will deliver another classic.

Here comes the train:

My view from on the train:

on the way downtown I saw this:
I have no idea who this is, but apparently he has the best weather:

Tovrea Castle under renovation:

Why Clark Gable has a star on Monroe Street in downtown Phoenix is anyone's guess:

The trains run on the streets, so they have to stop for traffic lights:

Jellyfish art under construction:

Cillaliz might recognize this spot:

The train passing by Cillaliz's old office. It is going, not coming.

On the way home I saw the basketball venue (I refuse to use commercial names for our tax-payer sporting venues):

And the baseball venue:

WE have successfully moved all movable furnishings out of the two rooms to be carpeted; my computer room is stacked high with chairs, tables, cupboards and such.

One percent of the $1.4 billion spent on our light rail system had to be spent on art. There is art at most of the stations. Here is some art:

Jennifer I have always had vision problems, needing reading glasses just made it worse.  I have problems tolerating progressive lenses, which I must wear to see.  Until I removed most of the reading portion from them they made me dizzy & nauseous.  Since I can read up close without glasses that is what I do most of the time.  So far separate reading glasses haven’t helped.

As for the Ott Light, I have not purchased one.  Other book lights haven’t worked well or bother Keith, fortunately my flashlight is bright enough.  Reading at night not to disturb Keith is just somewhat uncomfortable & bothers my neck at times.

I do miss holding a book with just regular distance glasses, not only for the comfort but for the speed.  I was an extremely fast reader.  On the bright side I can still see well enough to read. :)

I don't have an Ott light but i would love one.  Apparently it gives the same light as if you were getting natural light from outside.

Hey i just wanted to say a big thank you for all the vibes for my sister and her baby.

She went for another ultrasound today and the numbers they were concerned about were very positive. Then when she got home they called with the results from the amnio. And it was good news. Everything seems fine.

Yep but we're very relieved.  Also she told my niece that the baby was a girl (which my niece wanted). And she announced over the phone that she was getting a sister (while she dance and screamed). She is very happy about that.
