When I was a tiny lad, I thought that Dorothy Provine's TV series THE ROARING 2O'S was the most glamourous TV show I had ever seen.  Of course, I was probably the only kid in my second grade class who already knew who Walter Winchell was.

When you were a tiny lad, I thought it was the Roaring 20's.

That's right, honey, and just remember you will always be four years OLDER than me.

I at least, dearie, know I'm a classic ruin!

What a strange promotion for Nova Scotia!

I wouldn't know.  It was taking way too long to load.

Excuse me....Miss Dorothy Provine, star of Warner Bros Television series The Roaring Twenties and The Alaskans, and recording artist with Warner Bros Records Division.

And star of motion pictures......most notably IT'S A MAD MAD MAD MAD WORLD, WHO'S MINDING THE MINT, GOOD NEIGHBOR SAM, and THAT DARN CAT!

not to mention Blake Edwards' THE GREAT RACE!

We may interview him and his wife soon, if we can afford the makeup costs. They are not as high as Harry Connick Jr.s.!

Ok, the carpet is in.  The furniture is somewhat random right now.  The rocker was my great grandmother's so that will stay.  The table will stay too, but I'll probably paint the base depending on whatever I do with the decorating.  It still needs to be trimmed out, but it's getting close!

OK, here's the bathroom and the light that gave me a third degree burn.  I replaced the bulbs with lower watt bulbs and that seems to have helped a lot.   I am still going to put in a chair rail between the wallpaper and the paint. There used to be a big cabinet over the stool, it's a little room but looks much bigger without the cabinet

Thanks guys.  My mom has painted the base of that table so many times, lol. The base is blue and the sides of the leaves are yellow!  I'm thinking a deep red would be cool

Deep red sounds like it would work.  You did a great job on both rooms.  I really like the shades of the paint & carpet together.

here's the carpet

The close shows off the carpet better.  I can see why you are thinking deep red for the table.

One of the carpet installers gave me the name of a guy who is a finish trimmer and loves to do side jobs.  So, I'm going to call him and get an estimate.  I know I can do it myself, but if he is reasonable enough, it would be done a lot quicker and probably a lot better :)

Gees the floor looks bad in those bathroom photos.  There was paint and some drywall that I wiped off but haven't scrubbed with a scrub brush to really get it off yet.  It will be much cleaner looking than that.  Yikes!

Thanks for the decorating pics, DR Cillaliz!  Richard and I have been discussing some projects that we'll get serious about when the weather improves.  We like to be able to open the windows when painting is being done (notice I didn't say "when we're painting"  ;))

We have arranged a hotel for the extra 4 days at a very reasonable rate for a very nice place. So at least that's done.

The Vixter is far too nice to rip what needed to be ripped - Vixdad had a go but he's British and doesn't have the killer instinct this New Yorker has.

A strongly worded letter is being worked on.  We own 2 weeks at this place and have done for over 20 years.  We were promised something "absolutely" which was not delivered and I am not happy at all.

Oh well ... no time to get the blood pressure up
