Well, waddaya know...

I just popped the first ALLEGRO disc into my PC and this time iTunes shows all the track data.  So, it must be like DR Jose suggested--the discs have some minimal digital identifier that is recognized by iTunes (or whatever it is that Windows Media Player uses as it's source.)  But if the track info is not in the iTunes database, nothing will show up locally.

The question is--who enters the track data for iTunes.  I do recall when using Windows Media Player that it occasionally asked me if I wanted to submit my information to their central database but I've never seen that for iTunes.  Just curious...

You bet we won't forget ya!
Hey, Yvette!
We're glad we came to France!
You're one hell of a mademoiselle,
You taught us how to dance!

Have you been listening to that Tab Hunter cd again?

Er, no--does he have a Sherman Brothers recording out?

I have had many great meals in my day, and it would be most difficult to pick a single best...but here are some of the best...any meal I have had at the Al-Karawi home where I tend to stuff myself silly because everything is soooooo delicious!....both meals that I have had at DR FJL's home, his hubby is rather handy in the kitchen!...a meal at a very fancy restaurant in Tokyo, had blackened mud-fish which cost me about $65.00US...and worth every delectable yen!

Today I will be seeing my old friend Dave, who is a retired optometrist, as well as being one of the World's Nicest People. We will discuss my vision problems, among other things. I've now had three eye exams and we're still trying to figure out why I don't see properly with my new glasses.

Re Vixmom's timeshare woes: sometimes playing on someone's guilt can be very effective! My God, Debra, here you are, recovering from cancer, unable to speak--surely that should provide some mileage. You're too brave to lean that way, I suspect, but perhaps someone else can do that for you. In any case, my best that you win!

Great news from OZ and big hug to DR Tomovoz! I hope the heat lets up there, though.

Tom, my little French boy was there over New Years and loved it, but said it was quite hot then, too.

So who's the one on the right?

I'm not sure. Check your local listings. (As if you watch TV.)

Hmmm...if I remember INNER CITY correctly, DR JMK is going to have his work cut out for him.

That is VERY true......but DR JMK is a computer genius and I know he can handle the task.  I sent along the times of the tracks, so that might help.....

I am quite facile at digital manipulation of wave and other soundfiles.  I did a horrendous job years ago for a nutty teacher who had written "scientific" lyrics (none of which scanned correctly, but that's another story) for folktunes.  I've shut them all out of my mind now, but it was stuff like "photosynthesis" to the tune of "Clementine" (you try to make it fit, LOL).  Anyhoo, she had a bunch of 6-7 year olds record them, and they of course couldn't get through a take without a mistake.  So I had raw WAV files of sometimes up to 13 or 14 takes that I had to stitch together, sometimes literally taking the first syllable of a word and merging with the second, etc.  Even I was impressed with how flawless it sounded by the time I was through.

And, oh--did I get any credit for it?  No, of course not.  She gave numerous press interviews and "forgot" to mention either me (who had done all the arrangements and played/sequenced, etc.) or the recording engineer.

I'm stuck here waiting for the car service to have an available driver, so I can't call back for 10 minutes. If i'd called when I first posted, the jerks would have probably said there would be a car at my door in two minutes and, of course, I wouldn't be ready. Damn!

"Jerks"?   Why would you do business with "jerks"?

Quote
Gazelles are gentle creatures hunted by the fastest animal on earth, the cheetah. With the cheetah being so fast, you would think the gazelle would be extinct. However they've learned that the cheetah is only the fastest animal on earth while running in a straight line. So when being chased, the gazelle bobs and weaves and runs in circles until the cheetah gets tired and gives up.

It's time to think like a gazelle.

That....or it's time to go out and buy a cheetah!   :D

I was looking through my Band-Aid selection, and I have "Flesh"Colored Band-Aids in about 4 different shades.  None of them matches me, of course. Who decides what is "Flesh" color?  Crayola used to have a Flesh color, but they had to change it.
