Who was the replacement tenor?

Polish tenor Piotr Beczala replaced Rolando Villazon.

I prefer my brussel sprouts with a lemon sauce.

I also prefer NZ lamb.  Fortunately it does not taste of wherever it's been. ( a S.T. reference)

I like my sprouts with a dash of Balsamic and lots of cracked black pepper.

I doubt if we could taste a difference between NZ and OZ lamb by the time it travels to the Eastern US.

The local fresh spring lamb is really good.

When we lived in Long Beach CA, there was a "visiting chef" that would set up a charcoal fire pit on your front lawn and roast a whole lamb on a spit. (He showed up early in the morning and dinner was served in late afternoon - the aroma of the fat dripping on the coals made everyboy famished! It was as tasty as the whole pit-baked pig you could order from the Filipino caterers.

Unlike the suckling pig, the lamb was sans head, so you were not subjected to accusing stares.

I'm sure I'll be revising what I wrote today as I just wanted to get it all done, but I think it works.  The very end is a little longer than planned but I think it's good, so unless I feel differently after I go over everything in the morning, that's the way it will stay.  Tomorrow I'll revise, print out, Xerox and take to muse Margaret and hope that she likes them.

I'm back :)

The photo is darling.  Thank you.  I just wish his blue eye wasn't in the shadows.  How light is it? I noticed Buckley has a good amount of white on his face which is more common with a blue eyed Berner.  Often they have more white than he does.  I can't tell but his markings look symmetrical or is there more white on the right side of his face?  Would you even notice these things? ;)

No, but his owner told me that Buckley's mom is going to be in the Westminter dog show in the next few days.
His eye is very light and because of the blue eye they were able to get him at a good price. He is indeed playmates with Otis, the golden doodle next door, who's allowed free reign of our fenced in yard, so I hope onbe day they'll both come over and play.

I love to watch the dog show.  Do you know his mother's name or the name of the owner or handler?

Dylan had some brussel sprouts this evening.  (I don't think Toby cares for them.)  Dylan's poop could be interesting tomorrow.

I may as well reveal that this new novel is the third Adriana Hofstetter mystery.  I was going to do something else this year, but I'm a firm believe in threes and I'm still not sure if my other idea is a novel or novella or just a short story.  Plus, and most importantly, I'd thought of this idea before Murder At The Grove, but it didn't feel like it should be the second book in the series, for reasons that will become clear when you've read it.  So, I had the bones of the story already, and the title, the setting and a few of the characters.  So, that's what I went with and I'm really glad I did.

I shall now be on my way to Theater West to see some one-act musicals.  Funny, I would have thought at least one person might have said congrats.  Ah, well.

Oh joy.  Monday I am flying to St Paul to do an oral argument at the 8th Circuit. The weather forecast is freezing rain and severe weather for Minneapolis/St Paul and rain here.  Hmmm.  At least my flight leaves after noon.   Since it's suppose to be freezing rain, flying maybe safer than the 5 hour drive.

Who's trippin' down the
Streets of the city
Smilin' at
Everybody she sees?
Who's reachin' out to
Capture a moment?
Everyone knows it's Windy.

I'd be more concerned if it could take off, but not land!

Well, I just don't know.  My flight is Monday early afternoon and I need to be there by 8;30 AM on Tuesday.  I'm assuming that I'll get there by then.  If I can't that would mean all the flights had been cancelled and they'll just have to reschedule or something.

Interesting, at least one of our local channels announced that even though the deadline to switch to only digital is June or whenever, they are switching on Feb 17th as scheduled.  I wonder how many other stations will do the same thing

Saturday morning greetings!  Today Richard and I are going to a fundraiser for the local historical society (he's on the board).  It's an antique appraisal event - each ticket holder can take one item for the expert to evaluate.  We're taking Richard's great great grandfather's Civil War diary and a piece of Rookwood pottery.

Can you post a pictue of your Rookwood? I love it and have about a dozen pieces.

Just saw on imdb that Betsy Palmer only made $10,000 for appearing in the first FRIDAY THE 13TH film, and only took the iconic role because she needed a new car.

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0658133/bio

Yes, she admitted as much in the bonus features of the FRIDAY THE 13th remastered edition I reviewed a week ago.
