I'm guessing quite a few folks are watching it already on the east coast.

And, yes, DR elmore and I will be heading to the theatre tonight.  To The Booth for The Story of My Life.

My favorite NYC story.  I was walking back to the Milford Plaza down 45 Street.  There was a man and a woman and their two kids ahead of me.  The one kid, about eight years old, kept asking his mother what this was and what that was.  When they walked past the Booth, he asked his usual questions.  His mother said, "That's the Booth Theatre.  That is where they shot Abraham Lincoln."

How loud was your reaction? ;D

I tried very hard not to laugh too loud.

DR TCB - you should have corrected her by saying:  "That's not true, dear.  Everyone knows 'Our American Cousin' closed out of town."

Was that mother named Lucy Van Pelt?  Sounds like the song, "Little Known Facts."

I'm not sure that this week, with my conflicted feelings on the death of former friend John McGlinn, was the perfect timing to see a musical about conflicted feelings over the death of a best friend, but The story of My Life was glorious, beautfully staged, acted, and designed. It was heartbreaking, funny, and there are two songs, one about a butterfly and one about a schoolteacher, that moved me to tears. Thank you, DR Jose, for the ticket!

DR Jose, the album was Philip Langridge singing "Seven Sonnets of Michelangelo" and "The Holy sonnets of john Donne," which has a connection to tonight's show.

I'm so glad that I got to see The Story of My Life again tonight.  I liked it the first time I saw it, and I liked it even more on second viewing.  -Well, I at least cried more this time. I didn't notice any cuts since the first preview, but it did seem like a tighter show.  It really worked.

After the show, I headed backstage stage to see my friend, Bess, who is the Production Stage Manager for the show.  -And it turns out her assistant is/was her usual assistant, Ana.  It was good seeing some good friends again.  -Which is what the past couple of days have seemed to be about.  :)

I bought a six pack of zip drives at a bargain price, only to find out, I don't have a zip drive slot on my computer.  Oh well.

Ugh!  Of all things computery I've ever come across, I hated Zip drives the most.  I would store something important on one and then try to use it weeks later only to hear "click!  wrrrrrrrrrr...  click!  wrrrrrrrrrr...  click!  wrrrrrrrrrr...  click!  wrrrrrrrrrr...  click!  wrrrrrrrrrr...  "

Ohhh... That's actually sort of spooky.

And John Donne has figured into a couple of the musical highlights of the past couple of months: Doctor Atomic, Paul Groves' recital at Carnegie's Zankel Hall, and now The Story of My Life.

I had a wonderfuly, teary time with GHOST. Always makes me cry, and this first time seeing it in HD was no exception. The sharper picture and Dolby TrueHD sound just enhanced the experience.

DR elmore - You're most welcome. I shall be sure to pass on your Thanks along with mine to the general manager of the show who graciously provided me with the tickets for tonight's show.

*OH!  I did catch up briefly with Malcolm Gets after the show.  He sends his best, wants to know how you're doing, and he knows that he owes you an email.  ;)
