This is the best Oscar show in years.  There, is that better?  :)

Much!

No, Bruce, it's not.  The show is what it is.  But for some folks -- and it doesn't make those folks STUPID -- those settings are a nice change of pace from the same-old same-old.

It's not your cup of tea.  Understood.

I think she had it on backwards.  And/or inside-out.

Ben Stiller was utterly inane in the Cinematography segment, though.  Totally disrespectful of the award itself.  And the viewers' intelligence in general.

Ron, I only speak for myself - if others like the setting GREAT!  And no, it doesn't make them stupid, and I don't think I said that.

The narrative. First the script is written, then the set created and make up applied, then the cinematography....

I guess that would put the composers last.

The presenters are not landing many of their scripted "jokes" so far.  But they don't have much to work with.

And that's been the trouble with many of these shows down the years.  The jokes land badly...either because they weren't good jokes to begin with or they didn't have the right joke for the right person.

I'm just hoping that Jamie Foxx doesn't ruin it.

I really appreciated that guy from "The Duchess" mentioning  Rachel  Portman and her score.  Many of these movies are MADE by the scores, IMO.

I'm actually finding the show more INTERESTING than it has been in recent years.
