DR JoseSPiano - you had more patience with that rude, selfish woman than I would have had.  Sorry about your jacket.

I have three more episodes to watch and the gag reel (the only bonus) and I should have no trouble getting those done in plenty of time before I need to start watching Sunday night TV. I'd like to watch another MOONLIGHT episode to finish out the second disc in that set, and I'd like to start on the Blu-ray set of THE UNIVERSE - Season One which came in the mail yesterday (not for review; for my own amusement and edification).

I'm going to write for just a bit and then head downstairs. I have the guest bath to clean, the folded laundry to put away, and then I can get back and watch the last three episodes of JAG to finish up this review project.

Thank you to all that complimented me on the new Avitar. It was professionally done and shot my good side.

And no I did not get the photograph taken especially for my Avitar. :-)

It was taken while at Discovery Cove

Oy! It's been a very long but very good day. I accomplished all I needed to do at Toyland, and then I had a lovely late luncheon with my friend Daniel Neer, who's been doing readings of Stephen Schwartz' opera, SEANCE ON A WET AFTERNOON. Due to horrible traffic, the taxi ride uptown was endless, but I am home, thank you, Jesus! I think I will chill for a bit and get back to the Happiest Fellow in the Napa Valley.

I am off to Sunday Brunch at the Red Wind Casino!  Maybe I will see DR George and his folks there.

Sadly, no.  I'm still at home.  I hope you enjoyed it.  This evening, my sister, her boyfriend and I are all going up to Seattle to Jazz Alley to see The Manhattan Transfer live!  I saw them there about a year and a half ago and they were fantastic (as usual)!  It'll be great!  If I'd had the money (and the foresight), I would've gotten another ticket and stayed for both shows tonight.  Tonight is the last night of their four-night run.  They did two shows a night and that's what they did the last time.  But what was cool (when I stayed for both shows last time), was that they were practically two different sets!  I recall only two songs repeated between the shows.  But I'm not going alone tonight and I'm not driving.  But I'll get to see them and have dinner. :)

I like DR MICHAEL S new avatar....now he is one of us tiny people.

RE: the cast album of ILLYA DARLING.....those last four tracks are NOT on my United Artists LP....the ones that someone said are on there.....otherwise the earlier numbers listed as not being on the album are correct.....but the order is somewhat different.

Thanks for the info. I will correct it in my book

Re: The Order of the Songs

That I believe was usually the norm in LP days. trying to get as many songs per side as possible even if it meant shifting things around.

Also according to IBDB the Sondheim song is listed in the song list for Illya Darling; as well as several reprises.

I'd read that another reason songs/tracks were put in the wrong show order on vinyl albums was that different places on the album can affect the sound.

I was errant and truant, yesterday.  I went to work, then had a late lunch at Taco Del Mar (I had a filled punch card, so I got $5 off my order!).  I then went to Border's to see if there was anything that I wanted to get with my 30% off coupon (there wasn't...at least, nothing that I couldn't get cheaper anywhere else even without the coupon :-\), then I went to my sister's house.  Our parents came over and we just visited for a couple of hours.

I came home, watched some TV and then tried something that I hadn't done before.  I hooked the cable directly to my hi-def TV, by-passing the cable box.  I then had it scan the channels and what a difference!  I think that all the channels that are available directly through the cable using the TV digital tuner are available through the cable box, but in very different places.  I'd never known about channel 4 and channel 4-1...channel 90-332, 90-333, 90-334, etc.  And the standard broadcast version of ABC is on three different channels!  What's that all about?

Anyway, when I first got the TV, I had to split the cable to go to the TV and to my computer.  I originally wanted to split the TV cable again to go to the DVR cable box and my DVD burner.  But the split weakened the signal too much.  Watching through the cable box, some of the local channels were pixilated and most of the digital music channels couldn't even come in.  When I only split the cable to my computer and the DVR cable box, everything was okay.  So last night, I put all back the way it was because I need to record shows when I'm in Seattle. :)

Now, I must take a shower and get dressed (oh, I also did laundry last night :)) so that I can go to my sister's house.  We're all meeting there before we head up to Seattle and The Manhattan Transfer!

Have a good day, all! ;D

I'd read that another reason songs/tracks were put in the wrong show order on vinyl albums was that different places on the album can affect the sound.

That is very interesting. I never heard about that before.

I remember when Dreamgirls was first issued on LP they only recorded a portion of the score and each side was going to have x amount of minutes for optimum sound.

So I guess there is something to that.

Thanks for the input.
