I have the new regular THE ROBE dvd which I enjoy very much.  I like the movie, I had even bought a video of it several years ago....I also got DEMETRIUS AND THE GLADIATORS, both were shown on NBC'S SATURDAY NIGHT AT THE MOVIES, probably during the first season.

I had bid $20 on a book about the architecture of Richard Neutra.  After I bid, I scrolled down the page and found the same book on Buy It Now for $12......grrrrrrrrrr....

BUT this morning someone out bid me by nine cents, so I went ahead and bought the other copy.

At last, a plan comes together.

BK

I had asked this yesterday and I did not see an answer for it.

Did you receive the lyrics from Sondheim and compare them to I Think She Needs Me to see they are his lyrics?

Sondheim hasn't had time to listen to the tracks I sent him and compare.  He just e-mailed me and told me he'd get to it today or tomorrow.

I know Kauffman's CDs were mailed because I addressed that package.  If MattH ordered on the day it went live, that would have been on a Friday, so I'll try to go back through all these invoices and see if it's marked "completed."

I'll have to do the long jog when I get back from delivering CDs, which shouldn't be later than eleven-fifteen - should be nice and hot by then.

DR Cilla I found the link for the Good Morning interview with the neurosurgeon.  You might find it somewhat helpful in understanding what happened.  http://abcnews.go.com/Video/playerIndex?id=7109626

This month's Vanity Fair issue has several interesting articles including those on Bernie Medoff, John Cheever, the American Dream, and the new batch of movie comedians Seth Rogen, Jason Segal and some others.

BK,

Re ANYA:

I ordered the morning the item went live on your Kritzerland site. (Was that a Monday?). My mail server deletes mail after three days unless it's saved, so I can't forward you the invoice, but I definitely got one from Paypal. Remember that the invoice will be under my given name (ugh) Francis.

DR MattH, since I deduct every CD from my taxes, I print out a receipt for everthing I buy on Paypal. I would think you should be able to deduct a lot of your CD purchases as a reviewer. My Paypal receipt is dated 3/04, if that's any help at all, and I think the site went up about a week later.

I guess LIFE ON MARS, since it's sadly departing in two weeks, is working up a big send off fro the series, I sure hope it comes out on DVD.

I've read that ABC is planning a DVD even as we speak about it!

"Demetrius" was shown, but not "The Robe."  As Saturday Night at the Movies was in the second half of its second season (1962-63), "The Robe" was having its first theatrical re-release (1963).

ABC bought the rights from Fox to do annual Easter airings of "The Robe" starting in 1968.  They paid quite a tidy sum for it, too.  After a few years, Fox sold the rights for TV packages of "The Robe" and ABC switched its Easter offering  to "The Ten Commandments" which continues to this day.

Happily enough, the very first movie shown on Saturday Night at the Movies was the very first movie COMPLETED in CinemaScope (albeit the second one to be released to theaters):  "How to Marry A Millionaire".

It's probably buried under a post office backlog of DVD packages from the various studios who send him stuff for his reviewing job!  :)

It's a lovely morning, and I took a nice walk .  It's supposed to be 90 degrees today, but the forecast is that it will cool down to a brisk 72 by the weekend!
