Damn! The New York Pops just called me about a job for next weekend's Charles Strouse concert and I had to turn them down. It was an orchestration for the great "Children of the Wind" from RAGS and I've got too much work at the moment.

On a more positive note, I just met my new doctor anf she's quite lovely, right out of her internship, I think. She's a vast improvement over my last care provider. I still wonder if he retired or was asked to retire.

Topic of the Day:

The Banana Splits
The New Zoo Revue
Captain Kangaroo
Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood

In Seattle, they had a local show, J.P. Patches, who was a clown.  I never watched this show.  I think TCB has mentioned being a fan.

Here's a little bio with pics about my childhood crush, Pixanne.

Dan (the Man), when I went to Pixanne's website, I had a flashback (and not the good kind ;)) and remembered THIS site that I came across several years ago. ::)

Noi review items arrived today, so I had another day off. I began, however, by watching last night's CASTLE while I ate my lunch.

Those cold-blooded kids! They gave me the creeps.

And it was cool enough when I went to the grocry store that I was wearing a sweatshirt and a jacket. Seems a bit warmer now, however.

Anyway, back to the afternoon viewing. I watched two episodes from Season Three of DANTE'S COVE. The show is basically softcore porn, but I find it funny that the gay men are so much more attractive than the lesbians. No need to try to follow the ridiculous supernatural plots. Just a pleasure seeing all of the man candy on view, though the fact that almost all of them are shaved to within an inch of their lives is a little off-putting. It would be so much more interesting if there were more a variety of body types and some variations in how much or how little body hair the guys have.

Then I opened the second season box set of NCIS and watched the first episode of it. The hunky David Keith was the primary guest star. William Mapother was another, and there was tiny Abigail Breslin playing a blind child prodigy. Very good mystery.

I concluded my afternoon with today's AS THE WORLD TURNS. The boys were on beginning their new story arc about discimination, and they're in the previews for tomorrow, too, with ominous sights to behold.

Aw, geez....someone has sent me a friend request and written a funny note.

And I don't for the life of me know who this guy is.

Face is familiar.  Name is familiar.

But nothing's clicking.

So...I had to write and tell him so.  I asked him to please refresh my memory if he wasn't mad at me for not immediately recognizing our past association.

I like surprises....but I hate not remembering things I should.

Now, Matt, be nice and try to keep at least some of your clothes on.  This is a family-friendly site, after all.

When I was just a bit bigger than a tater tot -- circa 1954-55 -- we had a local TV show (originated out of Augusta GA) called, I believe, "Hippity Hop."

The show was about a rabbit named "Hippity Hop" (a hand puppet) who had lived in a valley that had been covered with water by the building of a dam.  The dam was at the Clark Hill Reservoir and formed a lake called Clark Hill.  This lake is partially in South Carolina and partially in Georgia.  The South Carolina portion is now named "Lake Thurmond", but everyone still calls it Clark Hill.  (It was originally called Clarks Hill Dam Project in the late 1940s, but a clerical error dropped the "s" and all the signs were printed "Clark Hill"...so..that's what we call it).

Hippity Hop would regale us with stories of his kin and friends and how they were faring after relocation.  The theme song was particularly wonderful I thought and I still remember a bit of it.  Of course, I can't share the tune with you, but part of the lyric goes:

Heigh ho Hippity Hop
Come along and flippity flop
With Hipppity Hop

I had meatball soup for lunch.

I ate a bowl of it.

Afterward, I enjoyed some steamed veggies and chicken Dijon.

Three people are out today.

That is a good thing.

It makes for a good Tuesday.

It's quiet, but busy.

Good Afternoon!

I'm back at my apartment between rehearsals.  I just started another load of laundry, and now I have to take care of a few emails.  And then, I believe, I shall nap.
