I have never seen/heard SEESAW, so I am not sure of my reaction to the announcement.  However, I have never been given a bum steer by those in the know here at HHW!  So I trust that it is something I will find interesting....at the very least.

I was a bit sorry to not find Claudelle Inglish or Youngblood Hawke among the WB offerings......but we did get THE BIG CIRCUS with Mr David Nelson on the trapeze!

Both of my writing assignments passed muster - so I don't have to do any rewriting....and now I can move on to working on Kiss Me Kate and MAN OF LA MANCHA!

Some of these children's shows look downright scary.

I remember something on Saturday morning about a little girl who had talking furniture....the table had jointed legs and walked around the room....scared me to death.

Sherry Lewis also had a show on NBC on Saturdays for awhile....I do remember Michael J. Pollard being part of her troupe.

I believe I did.  I hope.  At least for today. However, I have a feeling that I'm not done dealing with this "annoyance" since it involves the lease on my apartment in New York City.  Just having to make some decisions in absentia so to speak.

Here's a little bio with pics about my childhood crush, Pixanne.

Dan (the Man), when I went to Pixanne's website, I had a flashback (and not the good kind ;)) and remembered THIS site that I came across several years ago. ::)

Talk about scary!

When I was perusing the list of Warner Archive titles the other day, I bough several Joan Crawford titles, but I noticed several others that I wanted to research a bit before I bit the bullet. One was MANNEQUIN, her only co-starring film with Spencer Tracy. I'd never seen it, but I did remember that I had it in the Joan Crawford laserdisc box set and had never watched it.

So, tonight I took it out of the box and watched it. An interesting melodrama with Joan's usual rags to riches to losing everything and starting over with pluck and verve story. (She was still making this kind of movie late into her Warners Bros. career, too, only there she was 20 years too old to be playing it.)

I enjoyed seeing her act opposite one of the greats, and she holds her own with him, surprisingly enough.

I also thought Alan Curtis was a dreamboat (though he was playing an utter cad.)

What is the quality of these "burned" WA titles compared to the "pressed" commercial titles?

In the sad news department - my friend Richard Jones came over to get some DVDs and gave me the very surprising news that they had to put their beautiful and wacky dog Quinn down - very sudden - Quinn was ten, but the most energetic, wild, and wacky dog ever - he just suddenly developed a tumor that started bleeding and a few days later the doctor said it was hopeless and to put him down.  I'll miss the Quinnster.

That's the problem with pets.  You always outlive them.

I had to put down my cat about a year ago.  Had her for 14 years.  Took me weeks to get over it, and I stilll think about her almost every day.

There are a few of the WA titles I'll probably oder once I get settled in Texas:

A LION IS IN THE STREETS
RASPUTIN AND THE EMPRESS
AL CAPONE
ADV. OF MARK TWAIN
IDIOT'S DELIGHT

Will also probably replace my hommade copies of:

BETRAYED
JOHN LOVES MARY
WESTBOUND

Jrand, all I can tell you is Previn's Two For The Seesaw was probably amongst the five most played LPs I've ever owned.  And after I'd made a home-grown CD (full of ticks and pops - it was NOT a good vinyl pressing), I played THAT over and over and over again.  I'm surprised you've never seen the film but maybe it doesn't show all that much.  I have a lovely anamorphic scope region 2 DVD of it.

I guess I really will start shutting the jernt down at ten now.  Reopen at midnight or in the morning.  Me no understand.  All one has to do is go back about one year and every year prior to that and you'll see lots and lots of late night posts made by late-night denizens.  Now we get a few late-night denizens who come, read, and then leave without so much as a hello.

I'm listening to Maggie Flynn - what a wretched score.  And some of these RCA albums were really not produced well, with way too much distortion.  You'd think that after recording as many as they'd done they'd have figured out how to set levels and avoid the distortion.
