Hello, from El Paso.

Visited Tombstone today.

The O.K. Corral seemed a bit commercial, but interesting.

Boot Hill, on the other hand, was much more "real".

Tomorrow, we're off to Fort Stockton for the night.

DR Druxy I think it is great you are finding time to enjoy your trip.  When we have moved with children & pets in tow there wan't any fun involved.

Friday night and here we all are. Remember when we used to go out?

A about 5 years back Keith went through a stage where he enjoyed going out to dinner on Friday nights.  Aside from then, no. ;D

The only time that I go out on a Friday night is when I'm in a show or if I'm ushering for a show.  Otherwise, I'm very much a homebody...especially with my hi-def big-screen TV. :D

Or if your sister calls.  With a project.      ;)

Got home 3 hours ago, ate pizza with Richard, watched Jeopardy, fell asleep for 20 minutes, called my mom...

The past 2 days were very informative - much to think about.

And the word of the day is: ACARPOUS!
A CAR POUS is one of those bobble-head toys shaped like an animal, only instead of the usual dog it's a tabby cat.

I've done so many returns and enjoyed so many of them, but my favorite return this tax season is most definitely The return of Francois.

Gay marriage now legal in Iowa??

Yup. http://www.desmoinesregister.com/article/20090403/NEWS/90403010/-1/NLETTER04?source=nletter-breakingnews

Hoo and Ray!!  And I love that it was a unanimous ruling. :)

Here's my understanding of where it stands.  It will go into effect as soon as the time for a rehearing request is done, which is 3 weeks.  The news has reported that there will not be a request for a rehearing.

The ruling is based on an Iowa statute and decided based on the Iowa constitution not the US constitution, so there is no appeal to the feds.  The anti's only option is an amendment to the Iowa constitution.  Because of the process involved the earliest the vote on that amendment could be (assuming that it gets that far) is 2012.  So, at least until then, gay marriage will be legal here.

Friday night and here we all are. Remember when we used to go out?

Now we just sit at home, guarding our ornamental What Is It, Fish?          ;)

They aren't even ornamental; they are just brown. Just plain brown.

I hope the game warden won't be back to count them...

I am fresh from a nap and now trying to decide whether to watch an Indian movie or a Japanese movie.

Is there anything wrong with French movies?

... directed by a guy from India who speaks Japanese?

... international productions then!!

My favourite Miss C. movie!! ;) (Never saw it!)

Well, I was definitely out tonight doing my weekend chores.  We have a blizzard WARNING starting tomorrow at 4:00 PM and going into Sunday.  We could get 9-14 inches of snow and 25-40 mph winds!!

I dropped clothes off at Goodwill, went to the sale at Shopko, went to the grocery store, went to Petco, stopped at the office (I was out of town all afternoon) went back to the store to try to find milk (they were sold out of skim) and get bird and squirrel food and then back home.   I think I am in for the rest of the weekend

 Speaking of "river" ...

I just was watching the bonus material of Seven Brides For Seven Brothers .... the 2004 DVD edition ... and there's a MGM 30th Jubilee short with Johnny Green conducting the MGM orchestra with a medley for the Jubilee...

Well -- I'll make it short!! -- at one moment the song played is "Broadway Rythm" AND the subtitle reads ...... "Broadway River"!!!!!!! :D :D

Here's a little more from the DM Register
Quote
The Iowa Supreme Court this morning upheld a Polk County judge’s 2007 ruling that marriage should not be limited to one man and one woman.

The ruling, viewed nationally and at home as a victory for the gay rights movement and a setback for social conservatives, means Iowa’s 5,800 gay couples can legally marry in Iowa beginning April 24.

There are no residency rules for marriage in Iowa, so the rule would apply to any couple who wanted to travel to Iowa.
