Oh... I'm not sure if this has been mentioned yet here in HHW, but...

Patelson Music House in NYC will be closing their doors on April 18. They are currently running a "25%-Off Spring Inventory Sale", and I'm wondering if any other discounts will be introduced over the next week and a half.

I was in there recently and it was so bare, I asked if they were going out of business. They assured me they were not. Too bad. I loved that store, and the Patelsons were lovely folk.

However, even back then, I found the quality and knowledge of some of the staff quite appalling at times.

Can you top the time I walked into a Portland sheet music emporium and asked a clerk, "Do you have 'A Simple Song" from Bernstein's Mass?"  "We might--what's the name of it?," asked the clueless clerk.  (Think about it for a mo').

Yes.  Or at least tie that one:

Customer: I'm looking for a copy of the piano version "Flight of the Bumble Bee" by Rimsky-Korsakov.
Clerk: OK. Hold on, let me check in the back.
(time passes)
Clerk: I'm sorry, I don't see anything on the shelves by that composer.
Customer: Really? I know I bought a copy of that here before.
Clerk: Well, maybe Korsakov is spelled with a "C"...

-That's when I spoke up...

BK, indeed it is a 2.4 phone.

Guess it is time to buy a new phone.

http://www.tlavideo.com/product/1-0-237835_the-ten-commandments-the-musical.html?sn=3809

If anyone wants a copy of the musical TEN COMMANDMENTS (Val Kilmer is Moses!), it's going really cheap on TLA Video.

Is TLA paying people to order it?  -I'm still scarred from seeing it in person.

Because Dorothy needs a new pair of shoes??        :-\

I didn't know that "Dorothy" was Sarah Brightman's real first name?

OK... I have another day of editing and fine-tuning - and practicing ahead of me tomorrow. I'm in that stage where I have to transition from a "rehearsal pianist" to a "conductor" - which is always quite the eye- and ear-opening experience.

Goodnight.

Woo! MEDIUM just took a left turn I wasn't expecting.

I'm watching this right now.  I wonder what will happen! :o

I should've posted this earlier, but I received Illya Darling today!  The center hub spokes were broken but otherwise, the CD seems fine.  I have extra inlay trays, so it's not a problem.

I finished my viewing a while ago and wrote the notes.  I'm just sitting here like so much fish, listening to Two For The Seesaw.

Guess I better get to the post office tomarrow and pickup the cd's.

Dear George, lots of the cd's I've received have broken spokes.

Dear Jane, the rapping flight attendant was on the news here, seems he has several versions and the passangers always love him.

For the topic of the day, I know this is not what BK was looking for.  But, I miss going to the movies (mostly at the Academy) when you were afraid to make any noise because everyone was listening to the music .

Thanks, but actually, it wasn't the only way to say it.  It was the only way to post it.
