bk, I know it's not Ask bk day, but do you know why it is seemingly so difficult to synch picture and sound?  I've often seen this "dis-synchronicity" on video and even on broadcast television, and if there's even the slightest delay one from the other, it drive me to utter distraction!     :P

Watching Ashley Simpson videos again?

I began twisting said arms a few weeks ago, and I think it will happen.  The decision is really CD vs. DVD, but the audio simply isn't good enough to stand on its own without the visuals.  For this show, Vinnie wasn't there doing his own recording, so what we had to work with, while absolutely fine for the DVD is not optimal for sound sans image.

And personally, I'd really prefer seeing and hearing the entire show as opposed to just hearing it. Felt the same way about Elaine Stritch and Bea Arthur's CDs of their acts. Much preferred seeing rather than just hearing them.

I agree with you, DR MattH.

Did anyone besides me watch KROD MANDOON last night? I kept laughing at it and thinking how DR MBarnum would take it seriously.

I forgot to have that in my Friday Media Check, but I did record the two shows last night and will get to them at some point this weekend. Looking forward to it since I think Sean Maguire is just a dreamboat.

Well we all have several....this one has been on my mind ever since CD labels began issuing expanded editions from studio masters.  Happily, this one is in stereo...and contains both Natalie Wood's AND Jackie Ward's vocals.

GAY ELEPHANT DRAWS POLITICIAN'S FIRE

Quote
Ninio, a male elephant acquired by a Poland's Poznan Zoo, who has demonstrated a total lack of interest in the ladies, is now drawing fire from Michal Grzes, a conservative politician angered over what he sees as a wasted investment. Here are Grzes' statements, from the Telegraph:

"We didn't pay 37 million zlotys (7.6 million pounds) for the largest elephant house in Europe to have a gay elephant live there," said Mr Grzes, who is from the right-wing opposition Law and Justice party.

Shades of the 60s. New School students have taken over the building on the southeast corner of 14th Street and Fifth Avenue. The traffic has become a nightmare. They have been protesting many things over the past months and they took over a different building earlier this year. Most of the protests center around Bob Kerry as the President of New School. These students want him out and want the cuts to stop.

I'm glad I'm not in a cab or a truck trying to get downtown!

DR JoseSPiano - the theatre you'll be working in looks splendiferous!     :)

Next week, they'll be hosting a walk-thru of the historic Dock Street Theatre.  Dock Street is Charleston Stage's home theatre - as well as for Spoleto USA (Piccolo Spoleto).  It's currently in the midst of a three-year renovation, but it should be ready for the 2010-2011 season.  I'm really looking forward to getting a chance to check out such a historic space.

I've noticed this with some of the latest digital transmissions lately.  "(The) Ellen (Degeneres Show)" constantly seems out-of-sync lately.
