I used to enjoy the ribbon candy, and it was very pretty on gingerbread houses when I made them.

GENERAL LOST MUSING:

I was just thinking (always a dangerous thing), when Naomi parachuted to the island, she had a picture of Desmond and Penny.  She would have gotten the picture from Windmore since she worked for him...but WHY did she have the picture?  Did Windmore know that Desmond was on the island?  And how would he know that Desmond was on the island?  Even if Windmore set up his yacht race course to go through one of those "windows" when the position of the island was known, wouldn't it be a longshot for him to suspect that Desmond would be there?  Was Windmore behind Libby's gift of her husband's yacht to Desmond?  What was Libby doing in the mental hospital with Hurley?  Why does that bounty hunter woman look so much like Ana Lucia?  What lies in the shadow of the statue???

My head hurts...

DR Jose - does the rental package for The Producers come with the CD with the Mel Brooks cameo in "Springtime for Hitler" - or is there a special rule that you CANNOT use his vocal cameo?

Here's a blind item: has anyone heard any gossip concerning a Tony-winning clebrated "classy" married singiong actress having an affair with one of the leads in the HAIR revival? I heard it last night and thought, oh, she's too classy to get down and dirty with anybody!

DR Jose, have you heard this evil speculation? I thought you might since it's supposed to have been going on for some time and you know the actor in HAIR..

Wow!  I can't imagine Ethel Merman having an affair with anyone from the cast of HAIR; but then she did marry Ernest Brognine for a few hours.  Oh, you meant a living actress!

On TV TOnight!™

CBS - SURVIVOR, CSI, HARPER'S ISLAND
NBC - comedies, SOUTHLAND
ABC - IN THE MOTHERHOOD, SAMANTHA WHO?
FOX - BONES, HELL'S KITCHEN
COM - KROD MANDOON

Matt H., I am sure it was just an oversight that you left off MARINERS BASEBALL on FSN.  Of course, it doesn't start till ten p.m. EDT, so I guess it doesn't really count.

I don't think I shall ever look like the people above doing the "Hard Candy" Dance unless I stop eating candy.      :-\      Amongst other things.

But don't you still have that cute red dress?

Yesterday morning, I headed off to work feeling kind of weird; but since I am pretty weird, I didn't worry too much about it.  At my desk, I kept having a terrible time staying awake.  This situation was not helped by the woman who kept coming by my desk screaming at me for being asleep in my cubicle.  By noon, I was hit with severe chills, a pounding headache, and such terrible stomach cramps that I wasn't sure I could make it to the restroom.  I managed to finish my day at two, but by the time I got home, I was so sick that I went right to bed where I slept on and off until about an hour and a half ago.

I still feel horrible, and will probably climb back into bed very shortly.  Alas, Angel apparently has the flu, too.

MainStreet.com (whomever the heck they are) has just posted their survey of the unhappiest states to live.  I have no idea what their criteria happened to be, but here are a few of the unhappiest states:

  1.  Oregon
  3.  California
  4.  Nevada
  6.  Arizona
  9.  Idaho
10.  Washington

And hello, everyone!

I now have my car, plus the multitude of files that were stashed in the trunk. Many of these were tax files, which would be a real nightmare to try to replace. But all is well on that front.

TOD:

I never had an "addictions" that I recall, but I have used Ricola cough drops many times. I was very pleased to discover them, as they are sooo much more effective than the others I'd tried.

Thanks to all for the encouragement.  Not only are my toenails now cut, but I have drained the sinks, installed a seat cover in my new car for Zach, and several other various and sundried projects.  And I have never written in a journal before, but I decided to start one.  Might be interesting to look back on later.  I am sparing no one and no thing, and I am naming names!!     ;)

Oh, and yes - I also enlisted with the Connecticut Department of Labor.  It was relatively painless - but I do have to have a hearing, since I got some severance from my old company.  To quote DR JRand58:  "Ah, well!"   :)

To maintain my elligibility, I only have to make 3 "contacts" per week.  It will take a whole lot more than that to land a new job, but for benefits purposes, it doen't sound particularly onerous.

I am back from a most unpleasant dentist appointment.  Because I have been lax (I admit it), due to my never having had a cavity, they had to "make up for lost time," which involved them shooting me full of novocaine so that they could use a sonic blaster to clean my teeth.  And they only did half today!  Oy!  I had more shots today than I think I've had in the past 25 years combined.

BTW, DR FJL:
any suggestions for selecting a new CPA? My tax situation is fairly complicated, but not the worst. I'm looking for someone good at answering questions in a way that a non-accountant can understand, and be available for the odd tax question or two throughout the year.
