That sounds like it should be the title of something or other!

My little Norfolk Terrier, Cody, is currently at the vet's, fighting for his life.

He was born with an enlarged heart, and now it's on the verge of failure.

He's getting meds & O2.  The doctor is giving him a little better than a 50/50 chance.  His condition is "guarded".

The bad thing about having pets is that we outive them.

Whew!  Finally made it to the board.  It's been a long week.  We are in tech for The King and I this week and it's been great.  It's a long show, but it's not boring, just long.  The cast is great.  Sadly, I made a decision to cut the Overture (blasphemous, I know) and the Entr'acte, not only for time reasons, but because we have 13 players in the pit (for budget and space issues, of course) and it just wasn't working out well.  It's such a well orchestrated piece that it would be hard to cut it down.  SO, we are playing the first 12 bars and immediately segue-ing to the
"Opening of Act One" music, and it works like a charm.

Tonight is the invited preview, it will be exciting to have people besides the production team see the show and to hear their reactions.

I didn't know that Judy Canova played Mammy Yokum in a Li'l Abner TV pilot!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=92pOTacUTL8

I think that pilot is included on the DVD of the musical film, no?

No, BK. I sent you a DVD-r of the pilot.

For Jane:

PET AIRWAYS

Quote
New animal-friendly airline Pet Airways launched

A US company has launched the world's first pets-only airline dedicated to animal-friendly travel.

Pet Airways will cater for people who loathe the idea of their pets being stored in the cargo hold area during a flight by offering their pet-only service.

From July the new airline will fly dogs and cats in the main cabin of a turbo-prop Beech 1900 passenger plane which has furnishings such as the seats and bins removed, with animals placed in their private pet carriers and locked into a restraint system.

The plane can hold up to 50 dogs or cats. A pet attendant checks on the animals and makes sure they have regular toilet breaks during the flight.

I did enjoy sitting on the porch waiting for my ride, and the day is so gorgeous and the air so fresh and clean. What a perfect time of year.

Druxy, I hope you've got a new vet you like there in Austin.  When we moved, we really worried about finding a vet we loved as much as our LA vet.  We got really lucky though and found a great one!

I watched HENRY VIII for my work project. It's the same print used on TCM a couple of months ago, so it's old, scratched, filled with debris, etc. The sound was very hissy and crackly.

Of course, I knew it would be this way. Eclipse releases are never remastered.

I took today off and spent the morning clearing out bushes and trees in my back yard.  They had really gotten totally out of control.  I even went and bought a chain saw, but as soon as I got it home and really looked at what I need to do, I decided I really don't need a chain saw and would probably never use it again so I returned it

I quit at 12:30 because it was getting hot and I was tired. It's 91 degrees now.  Yikes!  I went to a tool sale a friend is having to liquidate her late husband's construction business. I got a circular saw, a couple halogen lights, a 100 ft extension cord and 7 brand new 3 ring binders for a whopping $34 dollars!

Then I stopped by the Schwan's truck. I did get the triple play meatballs that Athena made on Celebrity Apprentice.  The funny thing is the big marketing idea on the show was that the noodles were gluten free, there's nothing on the packaging that says they are gluten free, so it looks like the real dish isn't what it was on TV.   I didn't get the Asian Chicken.

The lawn sprinkler guy can't tell me where the lines are, they didn't do a map and he has no idea.  But, he did find a leak in the main line for the sprinkler and is repairing it.  Once it's working I can see where the sprinklers are and then plant my garden so that it will be watered by the automatic system.   I'm not in that big a hurry, I can't plant tomatoes etc until the last frost date which is May 10

And I'm not sure if this has made any of the mainstream news outlets - or even the non-mainstream new outlets - but it seems that the "Gathering Storm" people have requested and "won" that YouTube pull down any of the video parodies of their ad campaign.  Additionally, since they are claiming copyright infringement, some YouTube posters are getting their accounts suspended and all their previously posted videos pulled off the site.

I'm glad I was able to save the .flv video files. ;)

And according to THIS, the Doctor Who people want Gillian Anderson to be a villan! ;D

Quote
The X-Files star Gillian Anderson is set to return to her sci-fi roots - British TV bosses are lining her up for a cameo role in Doctor Who.

The 40 year old starred alongside David Duchovny in the cult 1990s show and two subsequent movies in 1998 and last year.

TV executives in the U.K. are reportedly keen to sign Anderson for a special one-off episode of hit show Doctor Who - playing a villain to do battle with the Time Lord in the ultimate sci-fi showdown.

A source tells British newspaper the Daily Express, "Gillian obviously has a massive sci-fi following following and it's felt it would be a major coup to have her appear in Doctor Who.

"The team behind the show are keen for the next Doctor to have lots of new enemies and Gillian would be a glamorous and impressive addition to the list.

"It would undoubtedly be regarded as one of those great sci-fi moments if the star of The X-Files gets to clash with the Doctor."
