Back from my haircut and errands.  When Richard gets back from his honor guard duties (military funeral), we'll go to Bath & Body Works and Barnes & Noble for some more items for the Japanese Cherry Blossom gift basket I'm creating for a silent auction.

Hey! I got a hair cut today too!.   Yesterday I saw an ad  for Bobbi Brown cosmetics  and it reminded me of our make-overs (DRs Danise, Jane, Ginny and Me) in New York.  It would be fun to do that again.

That was fun.  I still have a couple of the products left.  I remember how shiny we all looked afterward ;D

Oh, yes, we were shiny and here's proof...

You could have been in a revival of GREASE! ;)

... I'm not sure I want to be strawberry blond in Bryan's wedding photos.  I think he has set the date for August 2nd.

I don't remember reading this news. Have you mentioned this before?

Did anyone watch Barbra Streisand's special on CBS tonight? I was busy with my work project, so I did not watch or record it. But I'd love to hear some opinions if anyone did watch it.

I already ordered the DVD set.

Watch Barbra Streisand INSTEAD of COPS?  Come on, now, DR MATTH.

I was watching Throw Down with Bobby Flay and House Hunters.

I watched FUNNY GIRL.

Am watching my weekend Bollywood movie...a grade Z horror-trash-thriller from 2003 called JUNGLE KI NAGIN starring bodybuilder-turned-actor Amit Pachori and some other people.

It is about a young couple who battle a Nagin (she-cobra). It is lots of fun but really, really bad!

Back from an unexpectedly interesting partay.  It turned out not to be just a Totally Hidden Video reunion, but other hidden camera shows on which my friend Maura Soden had worked.  So, I really only knew a couple of people there besides David Wechter.  But as I walked into the beautiful Encino home, which I thought was Maura's house, I saw a beautiful woman who looked instantly recognizable - she looked at me as if she recognized me.  She said, "We've met, right?"  I said we must have but wasn't sure where.  Then Maura introduced us, telling me the gal's name was "Charmie".  It took me another two seconds to realize it was Charmian Carr - so I told her I'd put out Evening Primrose and she'd been told that I had by a mutual friend and we just hit it off incredibly well and I spoke to her most of the evening.  Luckily and happily I had a CD in the car, which she was thrilled to get.  It turns out she doesn't have a video of the show, so I'll be dubbing her a DVD off of mine pretty good copy.  What a great gal, and still incredibly beautiful.  I suspect there's a dinner in our future.

Good Evening!

What a great day this turned out to be!  :)

-And because it was so wonderful, I've decided not to spoil it by packing the rest of my luggage right now.  I'll have plenty of time tomorrow before or after our closing matinée.

 :D  :D  :D

Don't remember if I ever posted this here, but...

(Sweeney Todd and Mrs Lovett seated at the harmonium)

Todd:  Boy, the way Pirelli bled

Mrs. Lovett:  Pies I made from his fat head

Todd:  Guys like him I soon shaved dead

Both:  Those were the days!

Mrs. Lovett:  And you slew who no one knew

Todd:  Everyone went down with brew

Both:  Mister we could use a man
           Like Beadle Bamford to chew.

Todd:  Offered shaves at a cut rate

Mrs. Lovett:  More hot pies they ate and ate

Both:  Gee, our barber chair worked great.
           Those were the days!

That is SO YouTube worthy!

JMK -  Will there be monitors or TV's in the pits for communication between the people?

Well, another MD who's done a lot of shows there since the remodel told me that that's what he's done, but it sounded like he paid for that himself.  There's no way I'm going to pay for video monitors due to this idiotic design.

A tiered pit?  Is it at least in front of the stage?  How wide and deep is it?  -I'm just trying to picture what kind of tiered set-up would prevent people from seeing each other?  -Heck, it almost sounds like a lot of Broadway pits today.  Do you have a seventh floor dressing room available for your two keyboard players and percussion? ;)

And if any DRs happen to find themselves in Charleston, SC, I truly do highly recommend dining at FIG (Food Is Good).  Not only is the food good, but the people are too.  In fact, the kitchen staff even stayed on a little longer tonight to accommodate me, my director and her husband.  Due to a bunch of last minute walk-ups, we ended up holding the curtain for 10 minutes.  And then after the show, there was another "hold" due to all the friends and family in the audience tonight, so we dropped into FIG a little later than I thought would be comfortable.  But Samantha, Michael and Cacky really took care of us.  And even though the kitchen was supposed to close at 11:15, they were more than happy to make sure that we at least got our dessert orders in before they started packing up for the evening. -Which didn't happen until around 11:30, and two of the desserts were baked to order.

...And as we were about to walk out, a couple walked by, "We enjoyed the show!".  -They had come in for a post-show drink too.  The husband was very complimentary, and said, "You guys saved the best for last.  Because of this show, I've decided to subscribe to next season."  -Which brought a great smile to my director's face since she's also the Associate Artistic Director of the company. :)

And as much as I'd like to get us to Page 8, I really do need to get some sleep.  Tomorrow is going to be quite the day. I'm pretty sure it's going to get a bit emotional for everyone.  -Which is a good thing.

Goodnight.

After ArtsWalk this afternoon, my friend Margo, her two older daughters and I went to the local Olive Garden for dinner.  I had the "Tour of Italy," which includes "homemade lasagna, lightly breaded chicken parmigiana and creamy fettuccine alfredo."  For dessert, I had the lemon cream cake...to die for!

I totally forgot about it.  And I have to admit that I just don't care for Il Divo, so I'm not too broken up about it.  Did anyone on HHW see it??
