And speaking of snacks, here's a brownie baking pan for those who only like the edge pieces!!!!   :D

LOL!

Very funny! Where you find this stuff, DR DAW, I'll never know, but it's almost always entertaining and unusual.

I'm going to try my best to finish up with the X-MEN box today. I can do X-MEN 2 this afternoon since it appears ALL of the bonus features on the Blu-ray are just ports from the DVD release of X2. Thus, I won't need to watch any of them, just make sure what's there is the same thing I've already taken notes on from the DVD 2-disc set.

Tonight, I'll tackle X-MEN 3. For this, I've already seen the film in high definition on its previous release (though I'll spot check the transfer to make sure the quality is the same). But many of the bonuses were not included on the last Blu-ray release of the movie since it was on a BD 25 disc rather than a BD 50. Thus, I'll be watching a bunch of bonus features tonight connected with X3 that I haven't seen yet. That will take a majority of the evening, I suspect.

If I get some time to myself today (other than my lunch break when I'll likely watch SUPERNATURAL from Thursday night), I'll watch DANCE FOOLS DANCE, the next Joan Crawford movie from the Warner Archive Collection.

Oh, Spoo!

Good morning!

We had some rain sprinkles this morning, and it's still overcast outside suggesting we may get more rain later today. High back up to 80 today. Argh!

TOD:

I've seen lots of brutal murders on the screen. The ones in PSYCHO certainly jerked me right out of my seat when they happened (I stood straight up in the theater due to the shock). I guess those were the most horrific at the time. The assassinations of Bonnie and Clyde in that movie and of Sonny Corleone in THE GODFATHER were also wildly disturbing.

A song for FJL's birthday:

Happy birthday to Fred.
There's a cat on your head.
No, wait, he's on my head.
Happy birthday to Fred.

I wrote it myself.

Saturday morning greetings from the Genealogy Center at the Allen Co. (Indiana) Public Library!  I'm here with my sister and her friend Lois.  They're the genealogists and I'm pretending to work.  Actually, I am going to work on some lists of nonfiction and fiction books about Abraham Lincoln for my book group.  In June, we'er going to have a Lincoln Literary Roundtable - each of us will pick a different book about the Great Emancipator and share it with the group at our June meeting.

After while, I'm going to leave the Michiganders here to visit the Vera Bradley signature store, do some other shopping, and head home.

I should have asked yesterday for vibes for winning last night's $220,000,000 megamillions drawing! Then my brothers could have the damned property.

DR elmore3003 - is the potential buyer still in the picture, or is this brotherly agreement only for going forward?

A couple of questions about No Way To Treat a Lady

Just listened to Guy Haines radio spiel at the beginning of the cast album of No Way to Treat a Lady.

According to what is said the first scene takes place

Jul 6, 1970.

Now the movie was made in 1968.

Do you know what the reason was for moving the story up two years for the musical?

Interesting talk about "No Way to Treat a Lady," since I am currently taking a songwriting course from Harriet Schock, who wrote the hit song "Ain't No Way to Treat a Lady," which was the parodied subject of my parody with the AIG twist "Ain't No Way To Treat Ed Liddy"

Question #2

The musical had the conceit of having the same actress playing Mrs. Brummel, Mrs. Gill and the murder victims.

Do you think there should have been one actress to play Mrs. Brummel and another actress playing Mrs. Gill and the murder victims?

The murder victims were supposed to remind Christopher Gill of his mother.

Mrs, Brummel is not supposed to remind him of his mother. They actually never meet.

I also think I read somewhere that the painting of Mrs Gill (I forget her first name) in the film No Way To treat a Lady is

Joanne Woodward.

(or it might have been for another film)

I think the painting of Joanne Woodward is in Sleuth.
