The same actress playing all those roles works well.  And they're all mother figures of one sort or another - and Gill talks specifically about Morris's mother throughout the show.  I don't know why Doug moved it up to 1970.

Oh, and I'm up.  Looks like a nice day out, but I haven't decided about the jog yet.

Am I right about Joanne Woodward in Sleuth?  I have that image in my head for some reason.

Lawsy, lawsy, lawsy--HHW did *not* like me wishing FJL a happy birthday--I just got stuck in some iteration nightmare where HHW windows kept popping up over and over and over (I had like 300 HHW windows open and couldn't close them--the title of my next novel, obviously).

FJL, what was my Fish comment?

And then you can have him arrested and at the trial you can say, "I was beaten with a whisk in my honor, Your Honor.

DR elmore3003 - is the potential buyer still in the picture, or is this brotherly agreement only for going forward?

I think the potential buyer is turning out to be a fraud who owes money in Cincinnati for a mall. I'm happy they've finally agreed on a price. That was the problem the first year after my dad's death; they wanted a million, and if the recession hadn't happened, they might have actually got it.

David and I just got back from a wonderful breakfast in Andersonville - otherwise known as "Man-dersonville" - at a great place called "m. henry".  Sooo good.  Great food and great coffee - and usually the twain of those two things don't meet in the same place, but they did here.  -Metropolis beans, for those keeping track.

And now we're going to head downtown to walk around Millenium Park and Navy Pier for a few hours.  -OH! and it's an absolutely gorgeous and sunny day here today in Chicago! In any case...

We're also going to try to stage door a few shows after today's matinee, especially since Baayork is in town this weekend with A Chorus Line - and, yes, DR elmore, I shall pass on a Hi and a hug for you!

I shall post some more when we come back to David's apartment before heading out for dinner tonight.

And speaking of snacks, here's a brownie baking pan for those who only like the edge pieces!!!!   :D

LOL!

Very funny! Where you find this stuff, DR DAW, I'll never know, but it's almost always entertaining and unusual.

I believe that's one of Williams-Sonoma's new featured items.

*I prefer baking brownies in muffin tins for a "better" edge-to-middle ratio.

(I had this lovely box of chocolates I was going to send you, but, alas, the box never made it to the P.O.)

What a coincidence!  The same thing happened to my birthday gift for DR FJL - a box o' fruity snacks.

You owe me a lot of phone numbers!

Happy Happy Birthday, FJL...or should I say my long-lost "Dad"?

Case!  What a brief, but pleasant surprise.

OK, I'm off to Jefferson Pointe shopping center, then headin' south.  Next post from home in Middletown.

Bye for now!

Thanks DRs Jose & JRand.

Jose, Sherlock’s doggie dad just turned 4 & Sherlock will be 3 July 29th.  The breeders said his dad really filled out & even grew a little in height between his 3rd & 4th year.  It will be interesting to compare them again when Sherlock is 4.
