Well, you've read the notes, the notes had the thing, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're currently doing the not coming home thing.

for yesterday's word of the day.

I remember seeing an art show where the artist's work was very flocculent, consisting of only lint from the dryer.  I believe her friends from all over the country donated to her art supply.

for today's word of the day.

I see the meaning, but can't think of anything autochthonous except bugs.

Not a word I'd normally use.  I'm not from these parts.

Thanks to TCB and Vixmom and MBarnum for the Birthday Wishes!! ;D

Dinner at my parents' was nice and fairly quiet.  We had home-made tacos (the tortillas weren't home-made, though).  My mom made Chocolate Lush for dessert!  It's very simple, but my favorite!  Here's a recipe:

Quote
CHOCOLATE LUSH
Printed from COOKS.COM

CRUST:
1 1/2 c. flour
3/4 c. butter
1/2 c. crushed nuts (my mom used pecans)

Mix together and press into bottom of 14"x10" pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes; cool.

FILLING:
8 oz. cream cheese
1 c. powdered sugar
8 oz. Cool Whip
2 (3 oz.) pkgs. chocolate instant pudding
3 c. milk
8 oz. Cool Whip

Cream 8 ounces cream cheese with powdered sugar and add 8 ounces Cool Whip; mix well. Spread over above crust; chill. Mix chocolate instant pudding with milk until thickened. Pour on top of previous mixture and chill again. Top with Cool Whip and crushed nuts.

It's just delicious!  For my gifts, I got a Costco cash card, some cash and when my sister, her boyfriend and I went to see The Manhattan Transfer a couple of months ago in Seattle, that was my gift from my sister.  My parents are paying for half of my new skylight (that I will be able to open to let out the heat in my 3rd floor during the hot summer months). ;D

Looks like a busy schedule for MR BK in NYC.  I hope he gets to see BLITHE SPIRIT!

Thanks for the note on 9 TO 5 - DR FJL.  Who knew?  I am still not sure I am all for a musical based on the movie, but in the hands of experts - there are worse ideas to be sure.  What was that Mr Lehman Engel said about a Turkish prostitute.....

BK-

NO Answer To My Question from a few days ago...so we go to BK for an answer
Do you know of any recording outside of Walter Brennan's in Centennial Summer where the Lyrics are sung to Jerome Kern's beautiful up-lifting melody UP WITH THE LARK?
And If Not...Mr. Kimmel ... Why not get Guy Haines or someone to record it?
