BK-

UP WITH THE LARK

A Beautiful Melody by Jerome Kern..Lyrics by Leo Robin

Outside of Walter Brennan singing this song in the movie Centennial Summer-There has ,as far as I can Gather ,no recording by a Singer.
As far as you know-Is this True? And why do you think it has not been recorded? Could be something for Guy Haines to consider?

Good Morning, once again.

Greetings from Detroit (DTW)!

...Where I just remembered that I had been here once before. I believe I had to connect through here to either get to or from Memphis (Northwest Airlines hubs). And I seem to recall running madly through the terminal to get to my gate only to find that the flight had already left. I think. In any case, it's a pretty nice airport. Hopefully it will stay "nice" over the course of my three hour layover.

I've never heard a vocal version of Up With The Lark, but of course know the Bill Evans version.

Very nice water pressure in the shower here - that's usually my biggest complaint in NY hotels.

The Mail program is really spazzing out in NY - it's frequently showing all accounts as "offline" even though when you check them in preferences they're all "online".  So, I have no idea if mail is coming in or not.

Best car: My Corolla. 175,000  miles on it, and it has never given me any trouble.  We also have a 1990 Honda that was my mom's that has never given us any trouble.

Worst car: The Chevrolet Cavalier we bought my son. We finally signed it over to the kidney foundation with the promise they would sell it for parts. We also gave them $50 to tow it to a junkyard because we felt so bad about giving them a piece of crap.

That just means that the wireless signal is spotty, and that Mail sometimes can't "find" the mail when it goes to look for it (automatically). A manual refresh, at least, is easy.

But, of course.

I packed two apples, two bananas and some granola bars with me, and that should tide me over until the snacks and dinner on the plane. -I also don't like paying airport prices for airport food... Just like I don't like paying for a full day of wireless service when I'm only gonna be here three hours. Ize got my iPhone, Thank Ye very much!

bk - I believe Virgin America is the only airline to commit to having wireless access on all their planes. And, in fact, IIRC, they accomplished that goal last week - at least for all cross-country flights. Other airlines are supposed to follow suit sooner or later.

*My friend, Andy, flew Virgin last week and tried out the wireless service. He said it was good, but it is prone - by nature - to some dropouts. If you go to Virgin America's website, there's a video demo of how it all works.

I'm up.  Since they put me on the second floor, I hear a LOT of street sound, including the usual yelling New Yorkers on the street.

Dontcha just love it?!?!

Hmmm, will you be hitting post 40000 during the trip, I wonder.

Here's  photo of the new color in the dining room

NICE NEW COLOR. LOOKS GOOD

Thanks!  They delivered the hutch this morning and I had them take out this old yucky green carpet that's been there since who knows when (before I bought the place)  The floors look perfect, so I'm going to get felts for the bottoms of the chairs so they don't scratch the floor and just leave it without carpet.

Beautiful color, Cillaliz!

thanks. I really love it. I do wish I didn't feel so crummy today, but I wanted to finish last night so I really pushed myself and I think that's the problem. Anyway, I knew I didn't have much going on at work today, so I'm home.  I have some errands to run...and a friend called to tell me he has lots of morel mushrooms and wondered if I wanted any.  Woo Hoo!  I haven't had a big batch of morels since the last time I went mushroom hunting.. years and years ago

BITE ME!!!

And Monkey says "BITE ME TOO!!!"

*And just keep in mind that I have about 19 hours of flight time ahead of me, and I'm still not sure what kind of internet access I will have once I get to Manila. So feel free to pick up the slack while I'm in absentia. -How are those flowers on your patio doing?

Thanks Jane.  Now the living room really looks bad, lol.  It will be my next project, but since the dining room and living room where the total of what I planned to accomplish all summer, I've decided to wait awhile and will go to the lake over Memorial Day Weekend instead of doing a project on the house
