A Kitchen Aid is NOT a purchase, DR DAW, it is an investment!  My Aunt Mary has one from the 1950's that still works fine - and she still uses it quite often.

Such nice videos.

For some reason I thought Mr Adam Cates was a Noo Yawker - but hearing him talk on the video quickly settled that!  He seems a most charming fellow - and from viewing the PLANET X clips, also most talented.

MR BK how did you find him?

Little Wieners Wrapped In Dough will indeed be a great title....but my favorite title from yesterday's posts came from DR JMK - and it is:

I first saw nearly ALL of the movies in the TOD on television - THE MUSIC MAN in two parts!  The exception was ROSEMARY'S BABY which I saw at the drive-in on a double bill with THE ODD COUPLE!

Today is of course a work day.

Vibes to DR SAM on her ordeal.  And hoping DR JEANNE feels better today.

DR JOSE is having two GREAT trips in a row!  Wow!

Saturday morning greetings from Florence (Kentucky, not Italy)!  It's Deacon Day for DH Richard - thanks for the vibes and wishes!  I drove him over to the venue and am now puttering a bit in our room before going over myself.  The next time you hear from me, I'll be a Vicar's wife.

Bye for now!

West Side Story: Seattle (1st run)
The Music Man (Seattle 1st run)
Casablanca  (late 1950s in a Seattle (Northgate) revival house.  Didn't like it the first time I saw it, but now it's my all-time favorite movie)
The Court Jester (either first run in Seattle, or in our summer home, Soap Lake WA)
Vertigo  (Seattle, 1st run)
The Seventh Voyage Of Sinbad (TV)
Rosemary’s Baby (Seattle on a visit home)

West Side Story,
The Music Man,
Casablanca,
The Court Jester,
Vertigo,
The Seventh Voyage Of Sinbad, and
Rosemary’s Baby?

I believe they all were on tv with the exception of West Side Story in a reissue or a rep house

Good Evening!

Well, I just left the par-tay downstairs - which was starting to wind down anyway - since I finally started feeling quite sleepy. It was a very nice gathering.  About 75 people showed up, and my father's sister has arranged all of it: food (a buffet of Filipino favorites), the music (a one-man band, and two singers), and even a program for the evening (dance, talk, dance, sing, dance, eat, dance, play games, dance, talk, dance...).

I met a lot of people, and I at least tried to get and remember the names of the people directly related to my father.  There were about 25 children in attendance, and I think I can only remember two of their names right now.  I also believe the Mayor of the town stopped by - at least that's what I think they said.

Ah, that's what I thought it was since you have the "lift basket".  Did you splurge on any of the attachments?  I keep contemplating the ice cream bowl.

Adam found me - he'd heard about Brain and sent me his resume, we talked, I liked his energy and gave him the job - he was one of four or five people who contacted me about it - I made the absolute right choice.

Good morning, all! I think I am caught up on three days worth of sleep now. The video's a hoot and it's always good to see Mr Graae as demure and shy as ever. Where is our DR Julie? Will she never return to us?

Today, lots of MOST HAPPY FELLA, and perhaps a break at some point with Mr Rodney Gilfry who is in town for his daughter's senior recital on Monday night at Juilliard, which I shall attend, missing the divine Donna Lynne Champlin's "Finishing the Act."

Yes, DR JRand58, the mail was held by my neighbor and I now have it.

Oh, and I'm up.  There were big, grotesque, loud trucks and men working from two in the morning until now.  It was unbelievably noisy, but I fell asleep and stayed asleep until my wake-up call.  How I slept through the noise, especially when I woke up, is unknown to me.  However, now that I'm up, the trucks are gone and it's absolutely quiet out there.

As for the Topic of the Day....

"West Side Story" - Most likely on Channel 20 in Washington, DC, during one of their "Great Musicals" festivals/marathons. I was probably 10, 11-years old.
"The Music Man" - A hotel room in Midlothian, VA, just outside of Richmond, when we headed down there for a little league baseball tournament that one of my younger brothers was playing in.
"Casablanca" - During the last week of school in Mr. Johnson's Sophomore (high school) English class.
"The Court Jester" - Again, most likely on Channel 20 out of DC.
"Vertigo" - Yep, Channel 20 during one of their Hitchcock festivals.
"The Seventh Voyage Of Sinbad" - Channel 20
"Rosemary’s Baby" - Channel 7, when we lived in Gales Ferry, CT. They would show horror movies during the afternoon after-school block.  ??? -That was also the first time I saw "Trilogy of Terror".

DR Jane - As for the "Cheese" - It was a cheese-flavored sponge(?) cake. However, I'm not exactly sure what kind of cheese, probably cheddar.

And the adorable young girl in that picture is my cousin, Sophie.  At least I think she's a real cousin.  The doll she is holding is "Chrissa", which is this year's American Girl Place's "Girl/Doll of the Year". I believe her Uncle Jojo brought it from NYC with him for her. ;)

Jrand, what a great way of phrasing something I've tried to express over and over, and I will use it when Skip hesitates on certain purchases of items that will last for years and years.  (re "Kitchen Aid is NOT a purchase, it is an investment!")
