Well, you've read the notes, you've mourned the passing to the TV, and now it is time for you to post until the mournful cows come home.

Tonight (Tuesday), I'm going to see Grease at Seattle's 5th Avenue Theatre.  This run of the tour is supposed to have American Idol winner Taylor Hicks as the Teen Angel...except that he's not performing in the May 12th or 13th performances (the preview nights).  But I don't care.  Actually, I don't really care to see this show, but since it was part of the season package, I'm going.

I may well be the last DR on this board to buy a digital television.  With the possible exception of Laura DR.

I had to goback and enter Kirtzerland site again by using another tab and basically start the order over again. And had to do the same thing again to pay.

Maybe this happens on Mozilla and not the other programs to surf the www. (IE, Safari etc) But it was very different.

I did however order the two latest releases.

There's a GECKO in my house.

He doesn't speak and I don't use Geico.

Tuesday morning greetings!  Richard and I are off to Wisconsin for a little vacation, so I'll be E & T until this evening.  It's a bee-yoo-tee-ful day for a drive!

An open question for all

Does anyone know the actresses who play Sister Catherine and Sister Agatha in The Sound of Music?

They are the other two nuns along with Marni Nixon as Sister Sophia who are part of the trio that sing about MARIA

Marni Nixon who played Sister Sophia (The other singing nun) and Evadne Baker as Sister Bernice are the only other nuns other than Wood, Lee & Nelson who are credited.

Sister Bernice is the nun that tells Mother Abbess that she can't find Maria anywhere.

Sister Catherine (????) L  Sister Sophia (Marni Nixon) middle  Sister Agatha (???) right

Here is a Jewish food I DON"T like

KISHKA

I always called it Jewish Haggis. Their concepts are similar.

This is called timing...

One of the books in the latest delivery from Jessica's Biscuit is Jayne Cohen's The Gefilte Variations: 200 inspired re-creations of classics from the Jewish kitchen, with menus, stories, and traditions for the holidays and year-round.

DR Michael S will be glad to know that the index lists no recipes for kishka.

It may be a little while before I get to reading the book, however.  I'm still going through Jasper White's supurb 50 Chowders, and Michael Ruhlman is demanding that everyone read his new tome, Ratios.  Pushy fella, that Ruhlman.  (Nifty photography by his wife, Donna, btw.)

And, with that...

WORKIES.

(Happy Birthday, Sam!)

I'm reading an excellent biography (from 1990) on the Barrymores (not Drew, the other ones to whom she is related).

Living in Austin, deli food is a sore spot.

There are no GOOD delis in Austin.

 :'(

Sure, there's Katz' and Manny Hatten's...but I said GOOD deli food.

Neither of them have dijon mustard or real Jewish rye bread.

And, the corned beef is just so-so.

My favorite deli food?

Corned beef on rye at Canter's in Los Angeles.

Anybody want to Fed-Ex me one?

Another member here.  As much as I would love to have a widescreen HD television, my 27" Sony still is in fine conditiona and delivers a wonderful picture and I can't see just replacing it for the sake of getting a new set.
