Good Afternoon!

Well... I ended up taking a brief nap.  And then I finally drafted an email that needs to be sent out.  Hopefully, after the recipients read said email, they will not view me as being a "curmudgeon".  We shall see...

I haven't received it yet!

I'm off to my first presentation/meeting. I've taken my business cards (which I rarely use) and I'll be MIA until about 3pm.

....I tend to be nonconfrontational. I usually just walk away or ignore irritating people or situations.

This is me...all the time. ::)

For DAW:

The Liberty Education Forum (the educational arm of Log Cabin) has launched a website called WHAT MARRIAGE MEANS dedicated to supporting the legalization of some-sex marriage in New York state.

Perhaps you'd like to contribute your thoughts.

der Brucer

You mean...there's a specific marriage option for people who only sometimes have sex?? :o

bk - I'm glad you were able to get through to someone in the police department who listened to you.  However, just remember, it is legal for work to take place between 7:00am and 10:00pm.  Be sure that you don't become a nuisance to the police.

Today is also my sister's birthday. She has two more chemo treatments to go (one was rescheduled for tomorrow, since she didn't want to have to do it on her birthday), then this whole treatment thing will be just a bad memory.

A Very Happy Birthday for DR Laura's Dear Sister!!

Some-sex marriage?  I think I had one of those.

...and more bad news if you're a Betty fan, Archie finally picked Veronica (she got the ring after 65 years)....

Interestingly, we state workers were discussing this very hot topic throughout the work day.  Strangely, all conversation ceased when I said that the Archie characters are exactly the same as the Dobie Gillis characters.

How did I miss that? I will investigate...

I await the results of your investigation!  :)

Sublime Doughnuts

It happens to be very close to Turner, and if things keep going the way they are right now, I may be working there sooner than later!

Oh, goody, goody!
I haven't decided if Amy's "there" is Turner or the Doughnut Shop.

At this point, either would be fine...

Well, I need to leave now.  Tonight (actually, in about 30 minutes), the Washington Center for the Performing Arts is having their annual volunteer appreciation night (with free food!!) where they also announce their next season.  It'll be a fun night!  Fortunately, it won't last too long into the night.  I think that I'll be able to unpack my computer and make sure that it runs when I get home.  I still will need to clean off my desk, but that won't happen tonight.

Until later!

Still trying to figure out how to read bk's notes from days past. Anyone?

Go to TODAY'S NOTES click on "Column Archives" - a link at the left under unseemly Linkage.

Edited by JMK

I don't know if that was useful to edisaurus for when I click on the link ... I get a picture from UP!

Btw, in the French version of UP (Not yet released) the old man is voiced by Charles Aznavour.

Errands done, and now I'm pondering my dinner choices.

It's been very gray/grey and misty here in NYC this afternoon.  I had to run around Union Square for a bit, and the atmosphere - literally - seemed almost Fall-like.  But still no out and out rain(fall).

It was 76 today in Tacoma, and it is supposed to be 80 tomorrow.

Is that because of the humidity or smoke damage from last night's cooking?

LOL!

We were enduring the humidity in order to have the windows open to let the smoke out.
