I was a judge at a middle school spelling bee more than 20 years ago.  The hardest part was hearing those nervous spellers over the raucous audience members.

Still trying to figure out how to read bk's notes from days past. Anyone?

Go to TODAY'S NOTES click on "Column Archives" - a link at the left under unseemly Linkage.

Edited by JMK

I don't know if that was useful to edisaurus for when I click on the link ... I get a picture from UP!

Btw, in the French version of UP (Not yet released) the old man is voiced by Charles Aznavour.

Me too, but I found it via the description. I don't know why I didn't figure that out before, but then again, I don't know a lot of things.

I did a lot of errands and whatnot.  That's about it.  I'll now get ready to over to The Smoke House.  I still have a few charts to correct - they came in yesterday and today - just a couple, though.  And I still have to give him the audition sequence songs and the Dick Davis songs, but those aren't even half a page each - I'll probably record them for him when I'm at his place tomorrow and then he can just do them.

I had some rice pudding for lunch - saving my real meal for The Smoke House, although I don't intend to eat all that much - maybe a shrimp cocktail and a bowl of clam chowder - that would do me just fine.

I kept expecting that kid on the spelling bee to say "She gets simnel, I get passacaglia?"

Great news for Adam!  We have developed quite a fondness for Wisconsin since Richard started his seminary program there 3 years ago.

I was just posting on ATC that the sentences this year seem very influenced humor-wise by the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee musical's sentences.
